Google Mixboard is an experimental Google Labs concepting board for exploring and refining visual ideas with images and text. You can start with a prompt or starter board, add your own or generated visuals, and iterate with natural-language edits and variations. It is an ideation workspace, not a validated design or finished production asset.
Google first announced a U.S. public beta on September 23, 2025, and later announced an expansion to over 180 additional countries. That announcement does not establish current eligibility in every country. Check the current Mixboard page for access where you live.

Mixboard combines an open visual canvas with AI image generation and editing, uploaded references, and contextual text. You can describe a direction, explore visual possibilities, and refine them on the board.
Google describes Mixboard as an experimental, AI-powered concepting board for exploring, expanding, and refining ideas. How Mixboard differs from a conventional moodboard
A traditional moodboard usually involves finding, downloading, cropping, arranging, and annotating references. Mixboard adds an iterative AI loop:
- Describe an idea or start with a pre-populated board.
- Add your own images or generate visuals.
- Arrange promising images and notes on the canvas.
- Ask for edits, combinations, or variations.
- Compare directions and refine the concept.
