Where Corian appears at One One One Eagle Street
The clearest account of the material comes from Indesignlive’s 1 April 2013 feature, Clad in Corian®: One One One Eagle Street. It describes DuPont Corian solid surface used for both facade and interior cladding. The exterior application is concentrated on the tower’s V-shaped columns. Curves instead of planar panels
Cladding a branching column is visually different from covering a flat wall. The surface has to read as one deliberate form while changing direction around the column. Indesignlive attributes the project’s smooth, curved appearance to Corian’s ability to form curves. Because the source does not publish fabrication drawings or tolerances, the safe conclusion is visual and material: the selected solid-surface cladding allowed the designers to pursue a continuous curved expression. It does not establish how every curve was fabricated or joined.
Facade expression versus facade performance

Stair and escalator: one sculptural circulation element

Arup principal and project director Ian Ainsworth described the undertaking this way: “Like all major projects that push boundaries and adopt innovative solutions, One One One presented many technical and logistical challenges for the design and construction team.” He added that overcoming those challenges was satisfying and that the completed building contributed to the public amenity of the Riverside precinct. The 54-level and 44-level figures should not be merged into one count. The sources may be using different scopes or counting conventions, but the published material does not explain the discrepancy. Retaining each attribution is more reliable than presenting a reconciled number.

One One One Eagle Street has another documented facade-related system. Louvreclad’s commercial portfolio lists its Altura Series Chevron Vertical Louvres for the project and names Leighton Contractors and Cox Rayner as partners: Commercial Louvres and Facades. Those louvres are a separate system from the Corian cladding described by Indesignlive. A photograph showing vertical facade elements should not automatically be labelled Corian; the two applications need to be identified by source and location.

Start with the geometry, not the finish
