Set The Dark Trap Hook Brief

Dark trap hooks need a compact loop that survives repetition. Write an eight-bar brief before opening a generator:

• Cadence: mark stressed syllables with capitals, for example “NO SLEEP / STILL UP.” Keep the first phrase dense and the answer phrase sparse.

• Rhyme: pick one end sound for four bars, then switch to a related sound in bars five to eight. Internal rhyme can fill a busy bar without removing the main pause.
• Sound palette: describe low, tense drums, a dark bass movement and a restrained lead. These are creative directions for your prompt, not documented genre presets from every product.

Write A Prompt That Controls Cadence And Space

1. Write the hook skeleton with bar marks: “[Bar 1] cold eyes, no sleep / [Bar 2] (rest) / [Bar 3] same flame, new street / [Bar 4] (rest)”.
2. Add delivery instructions: “short phrases, hard downbeat accents, one-beat rests after each answer, do not fill the gaps.”
3. Add rhyme instructions: “AABB for four bars, then switch the final vowel; keep one internal rhyme per line.”
4. Specify whether you want a vocal song or instrumental bed. Do not assume a tool will expose a dark trap preset; ask for the characteristics instead.
5. Generate several versions, keep the take with the clearest rests, and rewrite any line whose stressed syllable lands off the drum accent.

Use A Rhyme And Arrangement Pass

1. Print the lyric with one line per bar and underline the final stressed syllable.
2. Check that the main end sound repeats only where you want the listener to predict it; change the vowel in the second half for tension.
3. Remove filler words that occupy a planned rest. If the hook feels empty, add a short ad-lib after the gap instead of another full line.
4. Export or stem the beat where the chosen tool supports it, then mute the lead during each rest to confirm the space survives the full mix.
5. Render a phone-length preview and listen for whether the first stressed word arrives on the intended downbeat.
