Blade pitch is the angle at which each blade meets the air. Universal Fans names it as a buying consideration, but the category evidence does not provide a like-for-like pitch figure for the three examples. A higher or lower pitch cannot therefore be used here to rank one model over another.
When the product page states a pitch, record it with the fan’s other specifications and compare only models measured on the same basis. If it is not stated, leave the comparison open rather than guessing from photographs.
3. Check span, then check the physical envelope
All three category examples are shown with a 52-inch span. Span is the diameter swept by the blades, not the total height of the fitting or the clearance from the ceiling. Before ordering, compare the stated span with light fittings, beams, cupboards, curtain tracks and the intended walking path.

4. Compare materials and blade finish in the actual palette
Antique brass, walnut, brass-and-white matt and bronze-and-walnut create different visual temperatures. Request or view the retailer’s current finish images at a useful screen size, then compare them with your paint, flooring and hardware samples. Decide where speed, direction and light controls should be operated. A wall control can be convenient when the fan replaces a switched ceiling fitting; a remote can reduce wall changes but introduces a handset, receiver and battery considerations. Paint samples should be viewed in the room’s actual daylight and electric light. Brass can shift from muted brown-gold to bright yellow depending on surrounding colour and illumination. Walnut blades add visual weight, so balance them with similarly warm timber or with large, calmer painted surfaces rather than many competing patterns.
