Unable to log in to Canva? The remedy depends on what happens after you select Log in. A rejected password, missing verification code, looping browser page, Canva service incident, and organization-managed SSO account require different fixes.
If you cannot log in to Canva, first identify where the sign-in process fails. A forgotten or rejected password needs Canva’s password-reset flow; a missing verification code needs email, SMS, or spam-folder checks; a looping page may be a browser, device, network, or Canva service issue; and a school, company, or team account may require an administrator or single sign-on (SSO).
Work through the matching section below rather than repeatedly changing your password. Repeated password resets will not solve an expired verification code, an unavailable work account, or a Canva service incident.

1. Reset a forgotten or rejected Canva password
If you no longer know the password, start with Canva’s official password-reset page instead of guessing repeatedly. Enter the email address or phone number associated with the Canva account and follow the recovery message Canva sends.

- Open the password-reset page.
- Enter the email address or phone number connected to the account.
- Check the relevant mailbox or phone for Canva’s recovery instructions.
- Open the message and create a new password when prompted.
- Return to the normal Canva login page and try the new password.
Be careful if you have more than one Canva account. A personal account and a work, school, or team account may use different email addresses, sign-in methods, teams, and permissions. Resetting the password for the wrong account will not restore access to the designs you are looking for.
A reset cannot help if you no longer control the associated mailbox or phone number. Do not use a third-party “account recovery” service or give someone your password or recovery code. Move to Canva support, or contact your organization’s administrator if the account is managed by a school or employer.
2. If Canva’s verification email or SMS never arrives
Canva may use email or SMS one-time passwords for account verification. The delivery method depends on the account and sign-in flow. Canva’s SMS terms explain that message frequency can vary with login activity and that users should never share a one-time password.

- Confirm the destination. Check the exact email address or phone number connected to the Canva account. If you have several accounts, you may be watching the wrong inbox.
- Search the mailbox. Search for recent Canva messages instead of relying only on a notification banner.
- Inspect filtered folders. Check spam, junk, quarantine, rules, focused or secondary inboxes, and any organization email filter.
- Check the phone number. Confirm that the phone has service, can receive messages, and is not filtering or blocking the sender. Carrier and mailbox troubleshooting is practical advice here, not a guaranteed Canva fix.
- Request one new code. If Canva offers a resend option, request a fresh code and wait for it. Use the newest code received; older codes may expire or become invalid.
- Try the other offered method. If Canva presents email as an alternative and you can access the account’s settings, email may be more reliable for future sign-ins.
Do not repeatedly request codes in rapid succession, and never give a Canva code to a caller, an alleged support representative, or anyone who contacts you unexpectedly. A genuine support process should not require you to disclose a one-time password.

3. If the code arrives but Canva rejects it
Enter the code from the most recent message. If you requested multiple codes, older messages may no longer work. Request a new code once, wait for the newest message, and enter it promptly without adding spaces or confusing similar characters.
If the newest code is consistently rejected, record the exact error and whether the problem occurs with email, SMS, or both. Then continue to the service-status and support steps below. Avoid changing the password repeatedly unless Canva specifically sends you through password recovery.
4. Check whether Canva is having a service incident
Before treating the problem as a broken account, open Canva’s official status page and look for the Login and signup component. Status information changes quickly, so a previous “operational” report does not prove that service is operational when you read this article.

- If Login and signup shows an incident: follow Canva’s updates and try again after the incident is resolved. Repeated password resets are unlikely to help with a Canva-side outage.
- If the status page shows normal service: continue with account, browser, device, network, and organization checks.

5. Check SSO, school, company, and team-account access
Organization-managed Canva accounts can behave differently from personal accounts. Canva Business documentation describes features including single sign-on and two-factor authentication. In these setups, your Canva password may not be the primary credential: the identity provider, organization policy, invitation, or team assignment may control access.
Contact the right person for the failure you see:
- SSO rejects your sign-in: contact your company or school identity-provider administrator. Check that you are signing in through the organization’s approved SSO button or portal.
- Your work or school account itself is inaccessible: resolve that identity-provider problem with the organization’s IT or account administrator.
- You were removed from a team or an invitation expired: contact the team owner or Canva administrator and request a new invitation or access review.
- The identity provider works but Canva still denies access: ask the organization administrator to confirm the account and team assignment, then contact Canva through its Help Center if the organization confirms everything is correct.
Do not create a replacement personal Canva account as your first response. A new account may not have the team’s designs, permissions, billing relationship, brand assets, or shared files.
6. Use browser and device tests to isolate the problem
When Canva’s status page is normal and your password or code appears correct, test the environment in a controlled way. These are diagnostic tests, not universal fixes.

This can help distinguish a sign-in problem from a stale session or conflicting browser data.
- Try another current browser. If Canva works there, the original browser or one of its settings is a likely contributor.
- Temporarily disable relevant extensions. Test extensions that modify scripts, cookies, privacy controls, or network traffic. Re-enable them afterward and narrow down the conflict rather than leaving security protections disabled.
- Try the Canva mobile or desktop app. If the app works but the browser does not, the failure is more likely limited to the browser environment.
- Try another device or network. This helps determine whether the problem follows the account or stays with one computer, phone, Wi-Fi connection, or network.
Do not assume that clearing cookies, changing DNS, updating drivers, or buying new hardware will restore a Canva account. Those actions do not bypass an incorrect password, unavailable verification method, SSO policy, team permission, or Canva-side incident. Likewise, avoid installing unrelated “login repair” utilities.

7. Contact Canva through the official Help Center
If the status page shows no incident and password, verification, organization, and environment checks do not resolve the problem, use Canva’s official Help Center. The Help Center is the appropriate escalation route; do not look for unofficial account-recovery services.
Prepare useful evidence before submitting a request:
- The exact error text, copied accurately or shown in a screenshot with private information removed.
- Whether the failure occurs before entering the password, after entering it, or after entering a verification code.
- Whether the sign-in uses email, SMS, SSO, Google, Apple, or another social-login provider.
- The email domain or organization involved. Do not publish your full email address in a public forum.
- The approximate time of the failure and your time zone.
- Your browser and operating system, or your device and Canva app version where relevant.
- Whether Canva’s official status page showed a Login and signup incident when you tested.
Do not promise yourself a guaranteed response time or a manual bypass. Canva support may need to verify ownership and account details before changing access.

- Do not share a password, one-time code, or recovery message.
- Do not try to bypass Canva’s identity checks.
- Do not request verification codes continuously as though more requests guarantee delivery.
- Do not create a second account before checking whether the original account belongs to a team or organization.
- Do not assume a physical accessory, driver updater, PC cleaner, or privacy tool can repair Canva credentials.
- Do not confuse Canva with Canvas, the learning-management system used by some schools.
After you regain access: reduce the chance of another lockout
Once you are back in, confirm which email address and phone number are attached to the account and keep those recovery methods current. If you repeatedly forget passwords, consider using a reputable password manager to securely store your Canva password and recovery details. This is a prevention measure, not a way to unlock an account you cannot currently verify.

For a school, company, or team account, ask the administrator which sign-in method is supported, whether SSO is required, and how organization-managed two-factor authentication should be recovered. Keep personal and organization accounts clearly separated so that you do not mistake missing team access for a failed login.
