To make EDM with AI, build the track in layers: use a beat-making tool to shape the drums, bass, and arrangement, then use a full-song generator when you want a vocal or a fast draft. Export the parts your tool supports and refine them in its editor; check the product’s site for current workflow and rights terms before publishing.
Choose A Starting Workflow
For an editable electronic track, start with Beat Shaper: it generates drums, basslines, synths, loops, and arrangements, with piano-roll editing and MIDI, WAV, MP3, stem, and DAW project export options. It runs in a browser. Its Starter downloads are limited to MP3 and non-commercial use; Ableton Live project export and real-time MIDI require Producer. Check Beat Shaper’s site for current plan details.
If you want an assembled instrumental or a song with vocals instead, Soundverse AI Beat Maker generates complete instrumentals and exports WAV mixes, separated stems, and MIDI. Suno and Eleven Music can generate complete songs with vocals or instrumental tracks; their editing and export tools are useful for developing a draft. Check each product’s site for current plan and usage terms.

Make An EDM Track Step By Step
- Choose a track goal. Decide whether you need an instrumental to edit or a complete song draft. For hands-on arrangement, open Beat Shaper or Soundverse AI Beat Maker. For a vocal or instrumental song draft, use Suno or Eleven Music.
- Describe the sound and structure. Write a prompt with the EDM style you want, the mood and energy, the main sounds, and a structure such as intro, build, drop, breakdown, and outro. Beat Shaper offers genre, mood, energy, and syncopation controls; Soundverse focuses on complete arranged instrumentals. For Suno or Eleven Music, specify whether the result should be vocal or instrumental and describe the sections you want. Keep the instructions focused so you can judge which musical choices work.
- Generate a draft, then revise one element at a time. Listen for whether the kick and bass support the groove, whether the lead stands out, and whether the energy changes clearly between sections. In Beat Shaper, adjust the editable parts in the piano roll. Suno supports editing, remixing, extensions, and section replacement; Eleven Music supports section editing, inpainting, and genre transitions. Make one change per pass so you can hear its effect.
- Shape the drop and transitions. Give the build a clear rise in density or energy, then make the drop feel distinct through the drum, bass, or lead arrangement. If a generated section is weak, regenerate or edit that section where the tool supports it rather than discarding a draft with useful material elsewhere. Suno supports section replacement and extensions; Eleven Music supports inpainting and genre transitions.
- Export parts for further editing. Choose MIDI when you want to change notes, stems when you want to work on separated parts, and a rendered audio file when you want a mix to listen to or share. Beat Shaper lists MIDI, WAV, MP3, stem, and DAW project export options, subject to plan limits. Soundverse lists WAV mix, separated stem, and MIDI export. Suno offers stem export, but its Free Plan does not include stem separation. Eleven Music offers stems and MP3/WAV exports; check its site for the plan conditions.
- Check rights before release. Confirm the relevant plan and platform terms for commercial use, downloads, generated voices, and any reference audio you upload. Get consent before using another person’s voice or audio as a reference, and make sure you have permission for any material you supply. Beat Shaper Starter is limited to non-commercial use; Suno Free does not include commercial rights; Eleven Music’s commercial rights vary by plan and exclude film, TV, and studio games. Check each vendor’s current terms for the track and intended release.

Keep The Draft Useful
- Save prompt versions alongside the audio so you can return to a direction that worked.
- Listen to the full arrangement before exporting; a strong drop still needs a workable lead-in and ending.
- Use only exports and release rights included in the plan you have, and verify the current terms with the vendor before publishing.
