To separate vocals from a song, upload an audio file to a stem-separation tool, choose the vocal or vocal-and-instrumental separation mode, process it, then preview and export the vocal stem. Prepare The Song File
- Use an audio file you are allowed to process. Check the tool’s upload size, duration, and format requirements on its site; those details are not established for every option here.
- Keep an untouched copy of the original. Stem separation creates an estimated vocal track from a mixed recording, and artifacts can remain where voice and instruments overlap.
- Decide what you need the vocal stem for: listening, editing, or mixing. If you need a particular export format or quality, confirm that the selected tool and plan provide it before uploading.
Separate Vocals In A Browser Tool

- Select the vocal separation or vocal-and-instrumental option if the interface offers one. Separate Vocals Locally With VocalDrop
- Install VocalDrop on a supported desktop system. Its listed platforms are Windows, macOS, and Linux.
- Import the song into the desktop app and run its vocal-and-instrumental separation workflow. It supports local CPU and GPU processing, but specific hardware requirements and supported file formats are not stated here.

Improve A Vocal Stem That Sounds Rough
Try another separation model or tool if the first result smears consonants, leaves instrument sounds in the voice, or removes part of a sustained note. What Vocal Separation Can And Cannot Give You
A separated vocal is an estimate extracted from the mixed recording, not the original studio vocal track. Expect some source bleed or artifacts, particularly where voice and instruments occupy similar frequencies. These tools document stem separation, but no tool-specific accuracy result for a particular song is established here.
If you need one singer isolated from a duet, a specific language or genre supported, or a particular sample rate, verify that capability with the vendor. The listed product information does not establish those specifics.
