To use AI-generated music in a Google Slides presentation, generate an instrumental cue, export it as an MP3 or WAV file, upload it to Google Drive, then add it from Slides with Insert > Audio. A quiet, lyric-free bed usually suits a slide deck better than a full song: it can support a visual without competing with narration or on-screen text.
Choose A Cue That Fits The Slides
Decide where the music should play before generating it. A short opening cue, a bed for a visual sequence, and a track intended to continue through several slides have different jobs. For a narrated deck, ask for restrained instrumentation and no vocals; for a gallery or portfolio deck, a more distinctive texture can work if it leaves space for the artwork.
Write a prompt around the presentation’s mood, energy, instruments, and intended use. For example: “Instrumental background music for a digital illustration portfolio presentation; calm, curious mood; soft synth pad, sparse piano notes, gentle pulse; steady dynamics; no vocals or dramatic transitions; unobtrusive under spoken narration.” Treat this as creative direction, not a guarantee of a particular sound. Preview the result against the actual slides and narration.
Pick A Generator That Exports An Audio File
These options establish MP3 or WAV export, which fits the file types Slides accepts. Their supplied descriptions do not establish a direct Google Slides connection, so plan to move the exported file through Drive.

The available descriptions do not establish which tool will produce a particular genre, cue length, seamless loop, or exact transition. Check the vendor’s current site for those specifics, then listen to the generated file before placing it in the deck.
Generate And Prepare The Music
- Set the cue’s role. Choose one section of the presentation and decide whether the sound should introduce it, sit beneath narration, or accompany a silent visual sequence.
- Write a focused prompt. Name the mood, a few instruments or textures, the energy level, and whether vocals should be absent. Example for a process deck: “Instrumental music for slides showing a digital painting from sketch to finished artwork; thoughtful and gently optimistic; warm keys, light electronic percussion, restrained bass; even energy; no vocals; keep space for narration.”
- Generate and review candidates. Listen from beginning to end. Reject versions with distracting changes, prominent lyrics, or a mood that fights the images. If a section needs adjustment, use an editing feature only where the chosen tool provides it.
- Export an MP3 or WAV file. Keep the exported file somewhere easy to find and use a clear filename, such as portfolio-opening.wav. If the tool offers other formats, verify that the selected file is MP3 or WAV before continuing.
- Upload the file to Google Drive. Wait for the upload to finish so the audio is available to Slides.
Add The Audio In Google Slides
- Open the presentation on a computer and select the slide where the cue should be attached.
- Choose Insert > Audio, select the uploaded file from Drive, and click Select.
- Present the deck and listen through the transition into and out of that slide. Check the volume against any narration and make sure the cue starts where you expect.
- Share the presentation with the people who need to present or view it. Check Drive access for the audio file as well as the Slides file; a recipient who cannot access the audio may not be able to play it.
Slides places the audio on a selected slide. If you need music across several slides, test how it behaves during the presentation and adjust the playback options available for the selected audio. The supplied tool details do not establish that a generator creates a seamless loop or controls playback in Slides.

Review the chosen music service’s current terms for your intended use, including whether the plan covers public, client, classroom, or monetized presentations. Eleven Music’s supplied details say commercial rights vary by plan and exclude film, TV, and studio games; its free plan is limited to personal use. Song.do’s supplied details do not establish its licensing terms, so check the vendor’s site. If a track contains a real person’s voice or other recognizable material, confirm you have consent to use it and follow the platform’s terms.
