The “digital playground” is not a software product or the official name of a building. It is Azure Magazine’s description of Livesport’s Prague workplace, where Studio Reaktor translated the visual language of sports into circulation routes, meeting settings, shared amenities and material choices. The project began with a colourful running-track concept in 2019 and expanded with a quieter, more tactile wing described in 2023.
What the “digital playground” actually describes
Livesport operates a digital service for live scores, results and statistics, so its workplace needed to express movement, competition and constantly changing information without turning the office into a literal stadium. Azure Magazine’s October 25, 2023 feature presents Studio Reaktor’s Prague project as that translation: sports references become floor markings, curved lighting, locker screens, colour fields and shared rooms. “Digital playground” is therefore an editorial shorthand for the interior experience, not a corporate product name, a public attraction or a formal designation for the premises.

The design is best understood as a two-stage workplace. The first intervention established a vivid visual identity. A later floor, completed four years afterward, retained the sports connection but changed the emotional register. Together, the spaces show how one company can keep a recognizable design idea while allowing a growing workplace to become calmer, warmer and more layered.

The 2019 phase: a track drawn across the office
Studio Reaktor’s first phase used the contours and lanes of a multicoloured athletic track as the organizing image. The idea does more than decorate a wall. Track geometry naturally suggests lanes, direction, pacing and intersections, all of which can be translated into an open workplace. Lines can guide a person from one zone to another; colour can mark a change in activity; curves can soften the visual hardness of desks and partitions.

Washable and reusable for multiple projects.
The athletic-track treatment also gives a large office an immediately legible identity. Instead of relying on a logo in every room, the interior carries a repeatable pattern. A visitor can read the workplace through its colours and trajectories, while employees encounter a setting that reflects the speed and competition associated with sports data. Azure’s account places this first phase across the 680-square-metre workplace and identifies 2019 as its completion year.

That initial language is intentionally energetic. A multicoloured field can make circulation feel active rather than merely functional, and it creates a strong contrast with the neutral finishes commonly used in commercial offices. The effect is not a literal imitation of an outdoor running track; it is an abstraction of lanes and boundaries adapted to desks, routes and shared work areas.
The 2023 wing: the same subject in a quieter key
The later addition expands the project while deliberately avoiding a repeat of the first phase’s bright palette. Azure describes the new wing as more restrained and luxurious, using black ceilings, textured grey carpet, warm wood, greenery, exposed concrete, and gold and pink accents. This material shift matters because it changes how the sports references are felt. The earlier phase announces motion through colour; the later wing suggests confidence and focus through contrast, texture and carefully placed details.
Black ceilings visually compress the overhead plane and make light elements more noticeable. Grey carpet provides a continuous, quiet ground for circulation, while wood introduces a warmer tactile note than painted or purely technical finishes. Exposed concrete keeps the space connected to an urban, infrastructural character. Plants soften the harder surfaces, and the limited gold and pink accents function as highlights rather than a full-spectrum colour field.
The result is not a separate design identity. Subtle track-like lines still connect the spaces, but they are less dominant than in the first phase. The sports concept has been edited rather than abandoned, allowing the added floor to feel related to the original office without looking like a duplicate.

The project’s visual vocabulary broadens in the later wing. Azure identifies combinations of curved and straight white lines that can recall a tennis court, a basketball free-throw circle or a soccer technical area. These references work because each sport has a recognizable geometry: parallel boundaries, arcs, circles, boxes and zones of play. Studio Reaktor uses those shapes as visual prompts rather than reproducing a regulation court at full scale.

Track lanes
Track lanes imply forward movement and parallel routes. In an office, that reading can support a sense of circulation: people move alongside one another, converge at shared destinations and choose different paths through the plan.
Tennis lines
Tennis-court markings bring a more rectilinear rhythm. Straight white lines can frame a zone, establish a visual boundary or create a measured counterpoint to the building’s curves.
Basketball’s free-throw arc
A free-throw circle introduces a strong, isolated curve. Used architecturally, an arc can gather attention around a workstation, meeting setting or communal feature without enclosing it with a solid wall.

Soccer’s technical area
The technical-area reference suggests a bounded zone beside a larger field. That is a useful analogy for a meeting room, focus area or support function positioned alongside an open workplace.
Because these shapes remain suggestive, the office avoids becoming a themed entertainment venue. Employees see familiar patterns, but the patterns still operate as boundaries, routes and focal points.
Where the design language meets everyday functions
The strongest details are those that combine visual identity with a practical purpose. The communal kitchen island is framed by an oval motif, turning a service area into a recognizable destination. The oval is an especially effective choice for a shared kitchen: it can be read as a track-like loop while also encouraging people to circulate around the island rather than queue along a single edge.

Perforated storage lockers perform a second kind of double duty. According to Azure’s description, the locker partitions help frame a meeting room and a coffee counter. Storage is therefore not hidden as back-of-house infrastructure; it becomes a porous architectural screen. The perforations preserve visual connection, while the locker wall gives adjacent functions enough definition to feel like distinct places.

Its winding form evokes motion without requiring a painted graphic or a large branded installation. Lighting becomes part of the spatial drawing, guiding the eye through the room and making the ceiling plane participate in the composition.
These moves show why the office reads as a playground rather than a collection of sports images. The motifs are attached to things people actually use: a kitchen, a coffee point, a meeting room, a storage system and the route between work areas.
How the two phases compare
| Design question | 2019 first phase | 2023 wing |
|---|---|---|
| Mood | Energetic and highly graphic | Quieter, warmer and more tactile |
| Colour strategy | Multicoloured athletic-track treatment | Black, grey, wood, greenery, exposed concrete, gold and pink accents |
| Dominant sports cue | Running-track contours and lanes | A broader mix suggesting track, tennis, basketball and soccer |
| Role of lines | Strong identity-making pattern across the workplace | Subtle floor lines that connect rooms and shared areas |
| Spatial integration | Track motif establishes the initial workplace character | Oval around the kitchen island; lockers frame a meeting room and coffee counter; sculptural light reinforces movement |
| Material emphasis | Colour and graphic geometry | Texture, timber warmth, planting, concrete and controlled accents |
Why the palette changes without breaking continuity
A growing company often needs additional space to feel like part of the same workplace while serving different moods or teams. Repeating every colour and graphic from the first phase would have produced visual sameness. Studio Reaktor instead carries forward the underlying rule—sports geometry organizes the interior—while changing the surface expression.
This is a useful distinction in workplace design. Continuity does not require identical finishes. It can come from a recurring shape, a shared proportion, a consistent line weight or a familiar way of marking communal destinations. In Livesport’s case, the track-like floor lines and sport-derived curves perform that connective role. The later wing can therefore be darker and more composed while remaining recognizably part of the same project.

The restrained palette also gives the eye somewhere to rest. Grey carpet and black ceilings reduce background noise; wood and plants add variation through material rather than saturated colour. Gold and pink are then able to function as deliberate points of emphasis. The design moves from an office that announces its concept everywhere to one that rewards closer reading.

Reading the office as a translation of sports data
Livesport’s service is built around information that changes quickly: scores, results and statistics appear across many sports. The interior cannot display that data literally, but it can communicate related qualities—speed, comparison, rules, zones and changing states. Lines resemble the boundaries that make sport intelligible. Circles and arcs imply moments of action. Routes and shared nodes suggest the movement of information between people and teams.
That translation is why the project is more specific than a generic “sporty” office. There are no documented claims that the workplace reproduces a particular stadium, club colour scheme or branded fan zone. Instead, Studio Reaktor extracts formal principles from sport and applies them to workplace elements. This keeps the design adaptable as the company’s coverage changes.
The current Livesport website, accessed October 13, 2026, presents the service as live scores, results and statistics and displays a changing selection of sports. That evolving breadth helps explain why the later interior uses several sporting geometries instead of committing to one field alone.

Azure’s 2023 article reports that Livesport was founded in 2006, had more than 100 million monthly users at the time of that report, and supplied scores, news and statistics for more than 35 sports. Those figures belong to the article’s 2023 context and should not be read as independently verified current totals. The company’s official site now uses a live, changing presentation of its sports coverage rather than establishing one permanent count.
This distinction matters when interpreting the architecture. The workplace can be discussed as a response to a sports-information business without turning dated audience or coverage figures into present-day claims. The documented design facts are stronger than any attempt to infer current company size from the office photographs.
Lessons for painting and interior colour planning
For anyone studying the project as a painting or colour-design reference, the useful lesson is not to copy a particular shade. It is to observe how colour intensity is allocated. The first phase uses a broad, multicoloured track treatment as the principal identity device. The later wing reserves brighter gold and pink notes for accents against black, grey, wood and concrete.

- Use geometry before colour: a line or arc can establish a zone even when the palette is restrained.
- Let texture carry variation: carpet, timber, concrete and planting create depth without adding more hues.
- Assign colour to destinations: framing a kitchen island or marking a coffee point makes colour useful as orientation.
- Keep a connecting motif: repeated curves or floor lines can unify rooms with different finishes.
- Control accent frequency: a limited accent colour has greater visual force when the surrounding field is quieter.
These are observations from the documented project, not a specification for a particular paint brand, product, sheen or commercial system. The source identifies bespoke workplace components but does not provide paint codes, manufacturers, lighting specifications or installation details.
What the published account does not establish
Azure’s feature gives a visual and conceptual account of the two phases, but it does not publish a construction budget, furniture schedule, acoustic performance data, lighting manufacturer, paint specification, occupancy calculation or post-occupancy survey. It also does not identify a named project participant whose words could be quoted directly. Descriptions of the materials, lines and sports references should therefore be attributed to the article’s reporting rather than presented as verbatim statements from Studio Reaktor.
The documented information is sufficient to understand the design strategy: a 2019 track-based first phase, a 2023 expansion with a quieter material palette, multiple sports geometries and shared amenities integrated into the visual system. It is not sufficient to make product recommendations or claim measured effects on productivity, employee wellbeing or brand performance.
The larger design idea
Livesport’s Prague office works because the sports references operate at several scales. At the largest scale, the first phase establishes a track-like identity across the workplace. At the room scale, the later wing uses court lines, arcs and bounded zones to distinguish settings. At the detail scale, lockers, the kitchen oval and the sinuous light turn ordinary workplace components into parts of the same visual language.
Studio Reaktor’s approach also demonstrates how an expansion can mature an existing concept. The 2023 wing does not discard the energy of the original office; it filters it through darker ceilings, tactile surfaces, planting and restrained accents. The resulting “digital playground” is best read as a workplace where sport supplies the grammar, while everyday work supplies the program.
Bottom line
The Prague project is a two-phase Livesport workplace by Studio Reaktor: a colourful, track-inspired 2019 office followed by a 2023 wing that broadens the sports vocabulary and tempers it with wood, concrete, greenery and controlled colour. “Digital playground” captures that translation from sports-data culture to spatial experience, not a formal building name or digital product.
