Meeting the operating-system requirement does not mean every compatible iPad can handle the same artwork. Procreate says maximum canvas dimensions vary by iPad model. If you plan to work with large canvases or many layers, check the Procreate Help Center for its device-specific canvas information as well as the App Store’s OS requirement.
Do you need an Apple Pencil for Procreate?
No. Apple Pencil is optional. Procreate describes the app as “Even better with Apple Pencil,” and the App Store listing notes Pencil support. If you want to use one, check which Pencil models work with your exact iPad before buying; generations are not universally compatible.
