Mcor introduced the ARKe at CES on January 6, 2016, as a desktop 3D printer that could produce full-color objects using the company’s Selective Deposition Lamination (SDL) process. Its launch announcement listed a $5,995 USD event MSRP and planned availability in Q2 2016. Those are historical launch details—not current offers—and present-day stock and support are unconfirmed.
What the Mcor ARKe was designed to do
The ARKe was presented as a desktop version of Mcor’s full-color 3D printing approach. The company described its SDL technology as the printing process and called the ARKe the “world’s first” full-color desktop 3D printer; that superlative is Mcor’s claim, not an independently established industry-wide finding. Mcor’s January 6, 2016 launch announcement gives the product’s original positioning.
Rather than treating the ARKe as a conventional ink-on-plastic machine, its product literature identifies paper as the build material. The brochure also describes recyclable materials, a manufacturer claim rather than an independently tested environmental assessment. The 2016 Mcor ARKe educational brochure describes the paper-based material and intended educational use.

Mcor’s launch announcement advertised color resolution of 4800 × 2400 DPI. Separately, the brochure listed 0.1 mm resolution in X, Y, and Z. These specifications describe different things: the DPI figure is the advertised color resolution, while the millimeter figure is a spatial resolution claim. Neither, by itself, guarantees a particular level of detail or color fidelity in a finished object.

Launch price and timing
At CES in January 2016, Mcor announced an MSRP of $5,995 USD for the event and said the ARKe was expected to be available in Q2 2016. These figures record the original announcement, not a current price or sales window. The company also said it had received “over 2,500 pre-orders”; that figure was Mcor’s own launch claim and was not independently audited.

What is known about availability now
The available sources do not confirm current ARKe inventory, pricing, service, or software support. AGA Color Solutions has a page listing an ARKe Pro and related installation, instruction, and maintenance offerings, but a listing alone does not confirm stock, establish equivalence with every ARKe model, or verify ongoing compatibility. AGA Color Solutions’ ARKe Pro listing is a point of reference, not proof that a particular machine is currently obtainable.
For anyone evaluating a used ARKe or contacting a reseller, confirm the exact model, what software and materials are included, whether the machine can be demonstrated, and what service and replacement parts are actually available. The cited sources do not identify a verified compatible paper or consumable SKU, so compatibility should be checked directly rather than assumed.
