Melius Research initiated coverage of Sherwin-Williams (NYSE: SHW) with a Hold rating and a $367 price target on October 6, 2026, according to PriceTargets.com and MarketBeat. This is a new coverage initiation, not a revision to an earlier Melius target. The available reports do not include the underlying Melius note, so they do not establish why analyst Michael Rehaut chose Hold or what assumptions support the target.

Two providers published different consensus snapshots around the initiation. They should be treated as provider- and date-specific figures rather than combined into a single universal consensus.

Both reported averages are above Melius’s $367 target, but that comparison is not proof that SHW will reach either average. The providers’ snapshots use their own data and timing, and the Melius target is one estimate rather than an outcome.

What Sherwin-Williams has disclosed about its business
The company’s 2025 annual report describes Sherwin-Williams as a developer, manufacturer, distributor, and seller of paint, coatings, and related products for professional, industrial, and other customers. Founded in 1866, the company also said it expected a softer-for-longer demand environment to continue in 2026.
The same report says Sherwin-Williams planned to open 80 to 100 stores in the United States and Canada during 2026. It identifies risks that include inflation, interest rates, tariffs, supply-chain disruption, raw-material availability, and foreign-currency fluctuations. These are company disclosures that give business context; they do not explain Melius Research’s October rating.
