Quilt Sampler Fall/Winter 2022 is a virtual shop hop: the issue visits 10 independent quilt shops and pairs each with an exclusive project. The publisher announced the issue on September 6, 2022, with an original sale window of September 9 through December 9, 2022. A digital issue was linked from the publisher’s page, but current print or digital availability is not established by those historical listings.

What is included in the Fall/Winter 2022 issue?

The format combines a profile of each shop with instructions for one project from that shop. The projects range from seasonal table toppers and sampler quilts to appliqué, stained-glass-inspired piecing, a Danish-heart adaptation and improvisational Flying Geese. Zinio’s description likewise presents the issue as a look inside 10 shops with 10 project patterns.

What fabric collections are named?

The publisher identifies the original collections for several projects: Bee Plaids by Lori Holt of Bee in My Bonnet for Riley Blake Designs; Bedrock by Whistler Studios for Windham Fabrics; Freedom Road by Kansas Troubles Quilters for Moda Fabrics; and Hoffman California Fabrics’ 885 Dot Batiks and 1895 Watercolors for Star Studded. These credits identify the fabrics used for the issue’s original looks, not guaranteed current stock. Substituting a similar palette may be necessary if a collection is discontinued.

Where can you find the issue?

The publisher’s September 6, 2022 issue page linked to a digital edition and recorded the original September 9–December 9, 2022 sale period. Because those dates are historical, check the publisher, established magazine back-issue sellers or a verified marketplace listing for the exact Quilt Sampler Fall/Winter 2022 edition. A listing for another season is not a substitute.

Were project kits available?

Cotton & Chocolate Quilt Company’s September–December 2022 newsletter advertised the magazine for $7.99 and listed a Star Studded kit at $132.00. That kit included fabric for the quilt top plus the magazine and pattern. The same newsletter listed an Exploding Stars kit at $132.00 with fabric for the top and pattern. Both prices and offers were contemporary to 2022; they do not establish present-day availability or pricing. Contact a shop directly to confirm whether a kit, replacement fabric or pattern is still offered.

What kind of quilter will find this issue useful?

  • Seasonal decorating: A Plentiful Harvest, Banksia in Bloom and Holiday Poinsettias are table-topper or display-oriented projects.
  • Traditional piecing: Playing Around, Fall Splendor, Americana Accent and Scandinavian Love build on sampler or Log Cabin ideas.
  • Graphic and art-inspired designs: The Wright Way interprets stained glass, while Star Studded emphasizes lively sashing and borders.
  • Improvisational technique: Night Flight uses improv Flying Geese against a dark ground.

Because the issue supplies complete project instructions rather than only shop profiles, it works best for readers seeking a specific pattern as well as inspiration from independent quilt stores.
