Roblox T-shirts are usually digital avatar items, not shirts you wear: a classic T-shirt is a square graphic displayed on the front of an avatar’s torso. Roblox gives 512 × 512 pixels as an example image size. You can browse these items in Roblox’s Marketplace or make your own with an image editor, then test and submit it through Roblox’s creator tools.
What a Roblox T-shirt is
A Roblox classic T-shirt is a 2D image asset for an avatar. It places a graphic on the front of the torso rather than wrapping an image around the body. Roblox describes classic clothing as legacy 2D virtual items, including T-shirts, Shirts, and Pants, created and sold through the Avatar Shop. See Roblox’s classic clothing documentation.
A classic T-shirt is not the same asset type as a classic Shirt. Shirts and Pants use separate templates to cover avatar body regions; a T-shirt is the simpler front graphic. The distinction matters when choosing an item or setting up a design in Studio.
How to make and upload a classic T-shirt
Roblox’s documented workflow uses an image editor, Roblox Studio for testing, and a web browser for the publishing flow. Follow the current instructions in Roblox’s Marketplace overview and the classic clothing guide.

- Official merch from Heroes of Robloxia, one of the millions of experiences on Roblox.
- Lightweight, Classic fit, Double-needle sleeve and bottom hem
- Choose the asset type. Select classic T-shirt if you want a graphic on the front of the torso. Choose classic Shirt or Pants if you intend to create wraparound clothing.
- Create the image. Design the graphic in an image editor and save it as a square image. Roblox gives 512 × 512 pixels as an example for T-shirts; check the live Creator Hub documentation for any updated specifications.
- Test it in Studio. Roblox’s T-shirt workflow uses a rig with a
ShirtGraphicobject to preview the image. Classic Shirts and Pants use different object types and template properties. - Submit through Roblox’s creator flow. Use the Creator Dashboard and Marketplace publishing process, following the current eligibility and submission requirements.
- Wait for moderation. Roblox says an item must pass moderation before it can be sold. Approval, fees, and publishing conditions are subject to Roblox’s current rules.
Fees, eligibility, and selling
Uploading an asset and publishing it for sale are not necessarily the same transaction. Roblox’s Creator Hub fees page currently states an 80 Robux upload fee per avatar asset submission, while the Marketplace policy describes additional publishing conditions. Fees and eligibility requirements can change, so check both the Marketplace policy and Marketplace fees and commissions immediately before submitting. Do not treat an upload fee, a publishing advance, and the eventual item price as one charge.
How to choose a Roblox avatar T-shirt
Browse the Roblox Marketplace for the digital item rather than assuming a physical apparel listing is equivalent. Before buying, compare:

Digital avatar items versus physical Roblox shirts
A classic T-shirt in the Marketplace is a digital asset. A physical Roblox-themed T-shirt is wearable merchandise, and its use of Roblox branding is a separate issue. Roblox’s name and logo guidelines say Roblox marks may not be used on physical products or commercial content without a licensing agreement. Do not assume a fan-made shirt is official or licensed unless that authorization is verified.
Owning or uploading a digital design does not, by itself, establish permission to print and sell physical apparel bearing Roblox branding. Roblox’s support information on creating and selling avatar items addresses avatar content; Roblox’s separate May 2025 commerce announcement describes in-experience purchases of physical products and a licensing initiative, not authorization for any particular shirt listing.
