Sherwin-Williams reported $6.7893 billion in consolidated net sales for the second quarter of 2026, up 7.5% from the same quarter a year earlier. That figure is revenue growth—not a return on Sherwin-Williams stock. The quarter ended June 30; the separate share-price snapshot cited below is dated October 5, 2026.
What the 7.5% figure measures
In its July 28, 2026 results release, The Sherwin-Williams Company reported Q2 net sales of $6,789.3 million, compared with $6,314.5 million in Q2 2025. The 7.5% year-over-year increase is for the company as a whole. It is not the change in SHW’s share price, nor does it mean every product line or store grew by that amount.
The company said consolidated sales rose primarily because sales increased in all three reportable segments. The Q2 2026 result also included Suvinil, acquired in October 2025, so the consolidated comparison reflects that acquisition as well as the company’s other sales activity.

How the three business segments performed
Sales grew in each reportable segment, but the growth rates and measures of performance differed.

These figures are from Sherwin-Williams’ July 28 release. Same-store sales are a distinct measure from total Paint Stores Group sales: the former rose 4.2%, while total segment sales rose 5.1%.
Paint Stores Group
The company attributed the segment’s sales improvement primarily to price increases, which contributed a mid-single-digit percentage, and low-single-digit volume growth. It reported that segment margin was 24.6%, down from 24.8% in the prior-year quarter.

Consumer Brands Group
Consumer Brands had the fastest reported sales growth among the three segments, at 21.5%. The release also presents an adjusted segment-profit measure that excludes specified acquisition-related amortization and restructuring items; the $212.9 million figure in the table is reported segment profit.

Sherwin-Williams cited growth across all businesses in this segment. General Industrial and Automotive Refinish each had high-single-digit growth, while Packaging, Industrial Wood, and Coil had mid-single-digit growth, according to the company.
Profit and earnings per share
The company reported income before taxes of $1,112.5 million, up 12.9%, and net income of $843.6 million, up 11.8%, compared with Q2 2025. It also reported EBITDA of $1.43 billion, or 21.1% of net sales. EBITDA is a company-presented non-GAAP measure.

Two different diluted EPS figures appear in the release:
- GAAP diluted EPS: $3.43, up 14.3% year over year.
- Adjusted diluted EPS: $3.70, up 9.5% year over year.
The adjusted figure excludes specified Valspar acquisition-related amortization and restructuring charges. Sherwin-Williams cautions that adjusted EPS is not a substitute for GAAP EPS, so the two figures should not be treated as interchangeable.

What management said about growth and costs
Chair, President and Chief Executive Officer Heidi G. Petz said sales improvement was driven by continued growth investments, new account wins, and increased share of wallet. She said sales exceeded guidance on a consolidated basis and across all three reportable segments.

Petz also said pricing actions were implemented to offset raw-material inflation that pressured gross margin during the quarter. The company described broad-based cost inflation in raw materials, energy, logistics, and packaging. It announced an 8% Paint Stores Group price increase effective September 1, 2026. That is the company’s stated pricing action and rationale; it does not establish that all cost increases were passed on or that pricing alone drove the sales increase.

On July 28, 2026, Sherwin-Williams gave guidance for Q3 and full-year 2026 consolidated net-sales growth of “Up mid to high-single digit %.” This was management’s outlook at that date, not a reported result, and could be superseded by a later update.

The company said its adjusted EPS guidance excludes $0.81 per share of Valspar acquisition-related amortization and $0.07 per share of severance and other restructuring expenses. As with Q2 reported earnings, GAAP and adjusted EPS are different measures.

What the October 5 stock snapshot says—and does not say
An AD HOC NEWS article published October 5, 2026 reported a SHW share price of $319.01 and a market capitalization of $77.4 billion. These are dated figures from that article, not live market data and not measures of Q2 revenue growth.
The same article attributed an adjusted EPS consensus of $3.52, revenue consensus of $6.60 billion, and a Moderate Buy consensus to MarketBeat. Those are third-party estimates reported by AD HOC NEWS, not company-reported results; analyst estimates can change. The Sherwin-Williams release is the primary source for the actual Q2 results.
Q3 reporting date cited in the October article
AD HOC NEWS said Q3 2026 results were scheduled for before the market open on October 27, 2026, with a call at 10:00 a.m. EDT, attributing the call time to Yahoo Finance. Event schedules can change; confirm the date and time on Sherwin-Williams’ investor-relations calendar before relying on them.
