Its own comfort chart rates the seat 8 out of 10 for fluffiness, the back 5 out of 10 for balance, and seat depth 6 out of 10. Those numbers are the manufacturer’s descriptions, not independent measurements.
The result is a cushion that yields when you sit down rather than holding you in a firm, upright position. Fletcher said she liked sinking into the sofa and could sit cross-legged. She also found the 72-inch version comfortable in her apartment. That is a personal account of one Poly Fill configuration; a different fill, fabric, body size, or cushion arrangement can feel different.

Fluffing is part of ownership
Loose material migrates as people sit, recline, and stand. Sixpenny says both of its fill choices are loose and shift over time, so both require fluffing. Fletcher reported that she had to fluff the bottom cushion fairly regularly to keep it looking plump. This maintenance is not evidence that the frame has failed; it is the expected trade-off for a cushion designed to feel soft and unstructured.
If you want a seat that looks nearly unchanged after a week of use, Olea’s construction will demand more attention than a tightly upholstered or firm, fixed cushion. If you enjoy punching up cushions and prefer a sofa that molds around your posture, the same behavior is part of its appeal.

Dimensions and room planning
Choosing between 72 and 84 inches
The 84-inch listing is the larger reference point in Sixpenny’s current specification. Fletcher lived with the 72-inch model and described it as compact in her apartment, about the same visual scale as the loveseat it replaced. She said it worked for one person to sprawl and could feel tight for two full-sized adults. That observation is useful for thinking about seating habits, but it is one person’s experience rather than a universal capacity rating.

For either size, draw the sofa’s footprint on the floor with painter’s tape before ordering. Include space for walking around the front, opening nearby doors, and placing a coffee table without forcing knees against it. The deep profile can consume more usable floor area than its width alone suggests.
Measure the delivery route, not just the wall
Sixpenny’s delivery guidance calls for measuring doorways, hallways, stairwells, and elevators and leaving an additional one to two inches of clearance. Use the 86-by-42-by-34-inch box dimensions for the 84-inch listing when checking turns and landings. Measure the narrowest point, note ceiling height at stair turns, and account for handrails, light fixtures, radiators, and doors that cannot open fully.

The product page says a delivery team may refuse delivery if it believes the piece will not fit and describes a 10% restocking fee for a no-fit delivery. Policies can change, so confirm the current terms before paying. A successful room measurement is not enough if the carton cannot reach the room.
Does the Olea sag?
There is no supplied long-term test that can answer how much the Olea sags after months or years. What is documented is different: the seat and back contain substantial loose fill, Sixpenny says both fills shift, and Fletcher observed that the bottom cushion needed fairly regular fluffing. A temporarily compressed or uneven cushion can therefore be normal for this design, while a permanently collapsed cushion, damaged suspension, or distorted frame would be a separate service issue.

To manage the expected settling, redistribute the fill whenever a seating spot looks compressed, rotate or exchange cushions only if the design permits it, and follow the fabric-specific care guidance rather than aggressively wet-cleaning the upholstery. If reshaping no longer restores the cushion or you notice a structural dip, photograph the condition and contact Sixpenny; the available sources do not establish a universal threshold for a warranty claim.

Routine maintenance

- Fluff loose-fill seat and back cushions whenever they lose their intended loft; frequency depends on use and household habits.
- Limit prolonged, direct sunlight. Sixpenny warns that steady exposure can fade or discolor fabric.
- Keep the fabric-care instructions for the exact cover and color you ordered; treatment varies by material, dye, and stain.
Washing and stain removal
Sixpenny recommends dry cleaning natural and recycled fabrics for routine laundering and stain removal. It says machine washing may be possible with mindful care, but that possibility is not a blanket instruction for every Olea cover. The fixed construction also makes removing the entire cover less straightforward than handling a standard removable slipcover.
Fletcher described one spill incident while living with a large dog and reported successfully blotting that particular mark. She also said Sixpenny did not recommend spot cleaning the hand-dyed fabric on her sofa. Treat that as an anecdote about one cover and one spill, not proof of general stain resistance or a universal cleaning method. Before treating a mark, identify the exact fabric and follow the seller’s current instructions; when in doubt, use a professional cleaner familiar with upholstery.
Practical implications for households
Olea is easier to live with when you accept preventive care: vacuuming, cushion reshaping, sun management, and prompt attention to spills. Homes with young children, pets, frequent food-and-drink use, or intense afternoon sun should weigh those tasks against the look and feel of the chosen fabric. A sofa can be comfortable and attractive while still being a poor match for a household that needs carefree, fully washable upholstery.

Those figures are historical terms, not a current quote. The product page now presents a different price context, so verify today’s price, delivery fee, available inventory, and return conditions directly on the seller’s listing before you commit.
