Jonathan Kelly, whose family company created Squishmallows, was asking $37.995 million for a Bel-Air mansion, according to a Realtor.com report published October 2, 2026. Kelly said he bought the property as an investment and never lived there; the report does not establish whether it is still listed.
Who is the Squishmallows creator selling the mansion?
The seller is Jonathan Kelly. His family company, Kelly Toys, created and launched Squishmallows in 2017, Realtor.com reported. The article says the brand was sold across two transactions, in 2020 and 2022. The Squishmallows connection explains the headline; the property itself is a separate real-estate story.
What is the reported asking price and sale history?
Realtor.com reported an asking price of $37.995 million on October 2, 2026. The same article said Kelly paid $26 million for the property in 2023 and that it had previously been listed for $47.5 million. These are figures reported in that article, not confirmation of a current listing or a valuation of the home.

How does the price compare with nearby properties?
The article cited two high-profile nearby properties for neighborhood context: an eight-bedroom spec house on the same street, listed by developer Ardie Tavangarian for $135 million, and Casa Encantada, less than half a mile away, which it said recently sold for $130 million to a company tied to Peter Thiel. One figure is an asking price and the other a reported sale price; neither is like-for-like evidence of what Kelly’s mansion is worth.
Noah characterized Kelly’s reported asking price as an “entry point” for the neighborhood. On the mansion tax’s effect on the high-end market, Noah said, “like anything, people have gotten accustomed to it.” Those are the listing agent’s views, not independent measures of neighborhood value or tax impact.

Is the mansion still available?
The October 2, 2026 Realtor.com article reports the asking price as of publication. It does not independently establish the home’s live listing status, so the $37.995 million figure should be understood as the reported asking price at that time, not a guarantee that the property remains available.
