Choose Stockimg AI for quick, format-led marketing content and social publishing; choose Leonardo AI for deeper image and video creation, custom models, and production control. Neither is a universal image-quality winner: the useful distinction is whether you need a content workflow or a more flexible creative-generation system.

Stockimg is best understood as an AI content-production platform, while Leonardo is more of a creative-generation and production environment. The difference matters after the first image: do you want help moving from an idea to a recurring social asset, or do you need greater control over developing a visual?
What Stockimg AI does well
Stockimg groups creation around deliverables such as logos, illustrations, wallpapers, posters, book covers, thumbnails, social posts, avatars, QR codes, and product photos. It also lists background removal, upscaling, and short-form video categories such as TikTok videos, Reels, and YouTube Shorts. Its product information describes generating from a text prompt and refining an asset with natural-language edits. Stockimg’s product and pricing page is the place to confirm current features.

This format-led approach can lower the number of decisions a beginner has to make. A marketer who needs a promotional graphic or a steady stream of platform-specific content may prefer starting from a familiar output type rather than choosing among models and generation controls. Stockimg also advertises integrations with Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and X, plus scheduling and automation. Those features make it a plausible choice when reducing handoffs between creation and publishing is more valuable than experimenting with image-generation settings.
That is a workflow advantage, not evidence that Stockimg creates better images. Plan entitlements and social integrations can change, and the public pricing page does not clearly expose every limit in its text. Check the current plan details before relying on scheduling, volume, or a particular format.
What Leonardo AI does well
Leonardo combines text-to-image generation with image-to-image workflows, image guidance, editing, background removal, and upscaling. Its broader offering also includes video generation and API access. It is a stronger fit when you want to build and refine a visual direction rather than simply request a predefined business asset.

One important distinction is custom model support: Leonardo’s API documentation describes training a fine-tuned model and generating with it through its model ID. That can be useful for creators or teams working toward a repeatable style or visual system. Leonardo also describes a visual workflow whose controls can be translated into production API code, making it more relevant to developers building generation into a product. This flexibility brings a learning curve. Users may need to understand model choices, tokens, generation modes, and feature-specific costs. Leonardo is less focused than Stockimg on a built-in marketing calendar; teams may still need separate tools for layout, approvals, copy, and publishing.
Image quality: compare by task, not by slogan
Neither vendor’s feature pages establish that its images are categorically better. Without a controlled, current head-to-head test, claims about superior realism, prompt adherence, typography, anatomy, or consistency would overreach.

For a fair evaluation, run the same brief through the specific workflow you expect to use. Compare marketing graphics, product imagery, photorealism, illustration, character consistency, text rendering, image editing, and reference-image fidelity separately. Record the prompt, selected model, aspect ratio, number of outputs, plan, date, and any upscaling or post-processing. Judge how many results are genuinely usable for your purpose, not just which sample looks most impressive.
For logos, packaging, or ads, inspect every generated word and symbol. Generated text may need correction, and a visually plausible logo is not automatically distinct or legally clear. For brand campaigns, test whether the same product, character, or visual style can be maintained across multiple assets; do not assume either platform will preserve it without iteration.
From prompt to finished asset
- Generate: Stockimg starts from a format or content category. Leonardo offers a more open-ended generation environment with model and guidance choices.
- Select and revise: Stockimg describes natural-language editing. Leonardo supports image editing and image-to-image workflows. Test how reliably each preserves the composition or subject you need.
- Prepare: Both list utilities such as background removal and upscaling. Verify output dimensions and quality for your destination rather than assuming a generated image is print- or campaign-ready.
- Publish or integrate: Stockimg emphasizes social scheduling and publishing workflows. Leonardo emphasizes creative tools and API integration. These are different kinds of convenience.
For short-form video, do not treat the platforms’ video labels as equivalent specifications. Stockimg lists social-video content categories; Leonardo describes video generation, including image-to-video workflows. Before committing, compare the exact model’s duration, resolution, motion controls, rendering time, audio support, watermark rules, download limits, and credit consumption.

Pricing, credits, and value
Stockimg web plans: Its public FAQ has described a free account and paid plans in a $19–$29 monthly range, with enterprise plans available. This is a vendor-stated range, not a complete cost comparison: credits, feature limits, and plan inclusions should be checked on the current pricing page.
Stockimg API: The API pricing page lists examples such as $0.02 for upscaling or background removal, $0.05 for a logo, thumbnail, or social template, $0.075 for product imagery, and $0.75 for Kling. These are per-operation API prices, not the effective cost of the consumer web application. Estimate volume and include retries and editing in your budget.
Leonardo web plans: Leonardo uses tokens, and the cost varies with the model and operation. Image generation, video, background removal, and upscaling can all use tokens; there is no single fixed token price for every image or action. The pricing page describes Relaxed Generation for certain first-party models on Premium and Ultimate plans after the main token pool is depleted. Relaxed mode is lower priority and has reduced concurrency; it does not mean fast, unlimited access to every model. Third-party models and some features still require tokens.

Leonardo API: API use is pay-as-you-go rather than requiring a recurring API subscription. Leonardo says new API accounts receive $5 in credit and that API credit does not expire; custom plans may offer higher concurrency, volume discounts, or dedicated support. Costs depend on the model and feature. Use the pricing and plans FAQ and its calculator to estimate the actual workload.
For occasional use, compare free allowances and privacy, not just the headline price. For a heavy creator, estimate monthly outputs, edits, upscales, and video—not just initial generations. For a developer, compare API cost, concurrency, privacy settings, and support. Do not compare a web subscription directly with a per-image API price, or claim a cheaper cost per usable image without measuring the same workload.
Commercial use, ownership, and privacy
Stockimg’s FAQ says subscribers own commercial and copyright rights to their creations, and its API materials describe commercial use rights for paid API plans. Leonardo says paid subscribers retain ownership and can keep creations private, subject to its terms. Its free tier is materially different: Leonardo describes a non-exclusive, royalty-free commercial-use license while retaining rights to use and distribute free-tier creations; those images are publicly available within the platform and may be viewed, copied, or remixed through its features. Check the current Leonardo commercial-use guidance and plan terms before using work commercially.
These are platform permissions and contractual terms, not a guarantee that an image qualifies for copyright protection in your jurisdiction or is safe for every use. You remain responsible for rights in uploaded reference images, prompts, logos, trademarks, and likenesses. Neither provider can clear a third party’s photograph or brand for you. Businesses handling unreleased products or sensitive work should verify privacy settings and terms, and should avoid a public free-tier workflow where exclusivity matters.

Which one should you choose?
- Choose Stockimg if you are a small-business owner, social-media manager, or seller producing recurring promotional graphics, thumbnails, and product-oriented content—and value templates and scheduling more than fine-grained generation control.
- Choose Leonardo if you are an artist, designer, game creator, or developer who needs image references, iterative editing, custom models, video, API workflows, or private paid-plan generations.
- Consider both if Stockimg can handle routine social output while Leonardo is reserved for campaign concepts, distinctive characters, or custom-style assets. Two tools make sense only if the time saved justifies the extra subscription or API spend.
Other tools may suit a more specific workflow: Adobe Firefly for people already working in Adobe applications, Canva for template-led design and team publishing, or Midjourney for users prioritizing aesthetic exploration. They are alternatives for particular needs, not proof that one image generator is best for everyone.
