A tattoo artist identified as Rochelle said a client chose an outline of a wave for a tattoo on his penis, joking that he wanted to ask people, “Hey, do you wanna ride the wave?” PerthNow reported the anecdote on 12 February 2025.
Why the client chose a wave
In PerthNow’s account, Rochelle said the client’s girlfriend jokingly encouraged him to get the tattoo, and he agreed. He chose an outline of a wave, explaining the joke behind it: “He got the outline of a wave cause he wanted to tell people, ‘Hey, do you wanna ride the wave?’”

What Rochelle said about the tattoo
Rochelle, whom the report identifies as an artist at Markd Tattoo in Redfern, New South Wales, said she had to stretch the skin and used cling wrap and paper towels during the process. She also joked that the experience was not exciting for the client and that she was the only one who had a good time. Those are her reported remarks about this one tattoo, not general technique or safety advice.
What is known about the story
PerthNow reporter Troy de Ruyter published the report on 12 February 2025, attributing the anecdote to Markd Tattoo’s TikTok page. Rochelle’s full name, when the tattoo took place and when the original TikTok was posted are not established in the report. The underlying video has not been independently verified here, so the details are best understood as PerthNow’s account of Rochelle’s story.
