During the 2024 Mandurah Arts Festival, murals were installed beneath Mandurah Bridge on its support columns and abutment wall. A contemporaneous report credited Nicola Cowie and Kat Ferguson with the column artwork and Mel “Melski” McVee with the wall artwork; the City of Mandurah’s retrospective overview confirms both mural areas and describes their themes.
Where are the Mandurah Bridge murals?
The artwork occupies two surfaces beneath Mandurah Bridge: its support columns and the abutment wall. The City of Mandurah describes the completed work as a large-scale mural on the columns and artwork on the abutment wall. City of Mandurah: Mandurah’s Western Foreshore

The Mandurah Arts Festival ran from 6 September to 6 October 2024. The City presents the murals as part of a broader effort to make the area beneath the bridge a place for community members and visitors to gather. It describes the artwork as a backdrop for events and activations, connecting the painted surfaces to the use of the public space around them. The City reports that the wider Mandurah Bridge project cost $53 million, including a $3 million City contribution; those figures refer to the bridge project, not the mural commission. It does not state a mural-specific budget, materials specification or installation technique. City of Mandurah: Mandurah’s Western Foreshore
