Try Thingiverse in a private or incognito window first. If you can sign in there, clear only thingiverse.com cookies and site data in your normal browser. If private browsing also fails, use the official password-reset page, then check whether you originally used Google sign-in, need to verify your email, or have a two-factor authentication problem.
1. Test Thingiverse in a private window
Open a clean browser session and go directly to https://www.thingiverse.com/login:
- Chrome or Edge: open an Incognito or InPrivate window.
- Firefox: open a Private Window.
- Safari: open a Private window.
Type your email address or username and password manually rather than relying on autofill.
If login works privately, your account and password are probably valid. The problem is more likely stale or corrupted Thingiverse site data, an extension, or a browser-session conflict. Thingiverse’s own community FAQ associates successful incognito login with a corrupt cookie.

2. Clear only Thingiverse cookies
Do not begin by deleting your entire browser history. Remove site data for Thingiverse specifically:
- Open thingiverse.com.
- Select the padlock or site-information icon beside the address bar.
- Choose Cookies and site data, Site settings, or the equivalent option.
- Delete the stored data for thingiverse.com.
- Close every Thingiverse tab.
- Reopen the browser and visit the direct login page.
Thingiverse has also instructed users to clear its cookies after login-system changes, as recorded in the Thingiverse changelog. Clearing site data can fix a stale session, but it will not correct a wrong password, an unverified account, or a failed two-factor code.
3. Remove browser interference
For one controlled test, temporarily disable ad blockers, script blockers, privacy extensions, cookie managers, password-manager browser integrations, and VPN or proxy extensions. Reload the login page and try again.
If the login succeeds, turn those tools back on one at a time to identify the conflict. Do not permanently weaken your browser’s security; the goal is to find which setting is interfering with authentication.

4. Check the credentials and sign-in method
The current Thingiverse login form accepts an email address or username, along with a password, and offers Continue with Google. Check the following before assuming the account is gone:
- Caps Lock is off.
- There are no spaces before or after the username or email address.
- Your password manager is not inserting an old password.
- You are using the email address associated with the intended Thingiverse account.
- You are not entering a normal password for an account created through Google or another single-sign-on method.
A failed login does not necessarily mean the password is wrong. Cookies, email verification, SSO mismatches, two-factor authentication, extensions, and site-side errors can produce similar symptoms.
5. Reset the password
Use Thingiverse’s official Forgot Your Password? page. Enter the email address registered to the account. The reset flow sends a special link to that address.

Check your inbox, spam or junk folder, Promotions tab, filtered folders, and mail rules. Requesting many resets in quick succession can make it difficult to tell which message is current, so use the newest reset email and open it in the same browser where you requested it.

If the reset page does not identify the account, confirm that you have the right email address and consider whether the account was created with Google. According to a January 2026 entry in the Thingiverse changelog, password resets are also supported for SSO accounts, but the original sign-in method and account email still matter.
6. If Google sign-in is failing
If you originally registered with Google, select Continue with Google rather than repeatedly entering a password. Make sure the Google account selected in the sign-in prompt is the one linked to Thingiverse, especially if you use multiple Google accounts.
Try the Google flow in a private window with extensions temporarily disabled. Avoid creating a second Thingiverse account with another email until you have confirmed that the original account cannot be recovered; a new account will not contain the original collections, Makes, likes, or design-management history.

- Search your mailbox for Thingiverse verification messages.
- Check spam, junk, Promotions, and filtered folders.
- Use the newest verification email.
- Open its link in the same browser session.
- Return to the direct login page and try again.
Thingiverse’s changelog records previous fixes involving verification-email delivery. Therefore, not receiving a message does not by itself prove that you entered the wrong address. If fresh messages still do not arrive, contact official support rather than repeatedly attempting passwords.

8. If two-factor authentication fails
Thingiverse offers optional two-factor authentication. Its changelog lists the account-security path as Settings → Thingiverse Account → Security.
For a rejected authenticator code:
- Set the phone or authenticator device to automatic date and time.
- Enter a newly generated code before it expires.
- Do not copy an extra space with the code.
- Confirm that the authenticator entry belongs to the correct Thingiverse account.
- Use any backup or recovery option you previously configured.
Never share a security code with anyone claiming to provide support, and do not disable two-factor authentication merely to bypass a login problem.

This usually indicates a session or redirect problem rather than a bad password. Clear Thingiverse site data, close all Thingiverse tabs, restart the browser, and sign in through the direct login page instead of an old bookmark or model-page redirect.

10. Try another browser, device, or network
If clearing site data does not help, compare:
- A second browser without extensions.
- A device that has never logged into Thingiverse.
- Your normal network and, where appropriate, mobile data.
- An unrelated Thingiverse page as well as the login page.
These comparisons help separate an account problem from browser, DNS, network, VPN, or security-software interference. One failed login from one browser is not enough to prove that Thingiverse is down. If the failure affects multiple users, devices, browsers, and networks, treat it as a possible service-side issue and use the official support route.
11. Contact Thingiverse support
Use the official Thingiverse support form. Include:
- Your Thingiverse username.
- The account email address—but never your password.
- Your sign-in method: password, Google, or another SSO route.
- The exact error message.
- Browser and version.
- Operating system and device type.
- Whether incognito mode worked.
- Whether a password-reset or verification email arrived.
- The approximate date and time of the failed attempt.
- Screenshots with passwords, email addresses, and other private information removed.
Support is the official escalation channel, but do not assume a particular response time or outcome. Do not use unofficial contacts found in comments or social-media posts.
Need the model immediately?
If access is blocking an urgent print, search for the creator’s original page or repository. You can also check Printables, MakerWorld, MyMiniFactory, or Cults3D. These are workarounds for finding a model, not fixes for your Thingiverse account.
Do not assume an alternative has the same file, version, creator instructions, or license. Before downloading, modifying, or selling a print, verify the license and confirm that the listing is from the original creator when possible.
