Vertical aluminium wall cladding creates a disciplined façade or interior surface by repeating narrow profiles in a consistent direction. The result can feel clean and pure because joints, shadows and colour are organised into one visual rhythm rather than competing with the building’s openings and details. Renson’s Linarte family is a current example: the manufacturer describes it as a vertical aluminium cladding system for façades and interior walls, configurable with different profile types, colours and integration details.
The appearance is only the starting point. A successful installation depends on choosing the profile and finish, resolving doors, gates, corners and curves, coordinating the supporting build-up, and confirming local structural, fire, weather and warranty requirements. This guide explains those decisions without treating a configurable building system like an off-the-shelf panel.

Vertical aluminium wall cladding is a rainscreen or lining concept in which finished aluminium profiles run from top to bottom, or follow another deliberately vertical datum, across a wall. Individual profiles create repeated lines; the gaps, overlaps or shadow joints between them establish the scale and texture of the surface. Depending on the selected system, the profiles can be used on an exterior façade, an interior wall, or both.
“Vertical” describes the dominant profile direction, not a promise that every piece on the building will be perfectly uninterrupted. Windows, doors, parapets, plinths, corners and changes in level still require trims, cuts and transitions. The design objective is to make those interruptions look intentional and aligned.

Renson calls its Linarte range a vertical aluminium cladding family. The company says it can be configured for façades and interior walls, with multiple profile types and colours. It also presents integration with features such as gates, doors and curved façade elements. Those are system capabilities described by the manufacturer; the exact profile, substructure and detailing must be confirmed for the project.
Why the vertical direction reads as clean and pure
One repeated visual rhythm
Regular vertical lines give the eye a predictable pattern. On a broad elevation, that repetition can make separate wall areas read as one surface. On a smaller interior wall, it can provide texture without introducing a busy graphic motif. This is a design observation, not a measured optical or performance claim.

Every profile junction produces some combination of highlight, shadow and reveal. A narrow, consistent junction tends to look calm; a wider or more irregular gap becomes a stronger feature. Ask for a full-size sample or mock-up so the chosen spacing can be judged in the building’s actual daylight and at night lighting levels.
Colour as a continuous field
A single colour across profiles, trims and adjacent elements can make the cladding feel monolithic. Contrasting profiles or trims can emphasise the rhythm instead. Colour names, gloss levels and surface treatments vary by system and supplier, so specify the manufacturer’s current finish reference rather than relying on a generic description such as “black” or “bronze.”
What the Linarte system can be configured to do
Renson’s product information positions Linarte as a configurable system rather than one fixed board size. The manufacturer discusses different profile types and colours, and describes integration across architectural elements including:
- Façade fields and interior wall applications.
- Doors and gates designed to align with, or sit within, the cladding composition.
- Curved façade elements where the selected profile and supporting construction permit the required radius.
These options do not mean that every profile works in every condition. A curved gate, a flat wall and an interior feature wall can have different support, movement and tolerance requirements. Obtain the selected profile drawings, finish schedule, fixing method and interface details from an approved supplier before committing to fabrication.

Key design decisions before you request a quote
Choose the profile geometry
Profile width, depth and edge shape determine the proportion of line to reveal. Narrow profiles produce a finer grain; deeper or broader profiles create stronger relief. Decide whether the wall should recede as a quiet background or act as a prominent architectural element. Review the profile at the distance from which it will normally be seen, not only in a hand sample.
Set the alignment strategy
Draw the principal vertical grid through the façade before detailing individual panels. Decide where the grid starts at the base, how it meets the roofline and whether it continues across returns. At windows and doors, establish whether joints align with jambs, mullions or a separate datum. A small shift at an opening can be more noticeable than a colour variation.
Coordinate corners and changes of plane
External corners may use a dedicated corner component, a mitred arrangement or another manufacturer-approved detail. Internal corners, soffits and wall-to-ceiling transitions need their own decisions. Do not assume that a standard corner trim will preserve the same reveal width as the field profile; inspect the actual section drawing.
Plan doors and gates as part of the elevation
An integrated door or gate needs movement clearances, hinges, locks, drainage and access to remain functional after the profiles are fitted. Confirm which components carry the cladding weight and how the door leaf is balanced. The visual objective is alignment; the hardware and structural design remain project-specific.
Check curved applications early
Curves can require a particular profile, minimum radius, segmented construction or a different backing arrangement. Draw the curve in plan and elevation, then request written confirmation that the proposed profile and finish are suitable. Do not infer a minimum radius from a photograph of another project.

- Profile family and exact profile reference.
- Profile direction and the intended joint or reveal appearance.
- Colour and finish reference, including any different colours for trims or feature zones.
- Overall wall dimensions, returns, heights, curves and opening sizes.
- Locations of doors, gates, windows, vents, lights, signs and other penetrations.
- Corner, base, head, soffit and transition details.
- Substrate and support conditions, including insulation or framing interfaces where applicable.
- Access, lifting and sequencing constraints for the installation area.
- Cleaning, warranty and inspection requirements supplied with the selected system.
Ask the supplier to identify every item included in the quote: profiles, trims, clips or brackets, support rails, fasteners, membranes, flashings, cut-outs, delivery, fabrication and installation. A low headline price can omit the interface pieces that make the design buildable.
How installation should be planned
The precise assembly depends on the selected Linarte configuration and the building. The following sequence is a coordination framework, not a substitute for the manufacturer’s current installation instructions or local engineering.
- Verify the substrate. Confirm that the wall, framing or other support can accept the system loads and fixings. Record plane, plumb and tolerance conditions before ordering cut lengths.
- Set out the grid. Mark the starting line, profile centres, corners and opening datums. Resolve any discrepancy between the architectural drawing and the as-built wall before fabrication.
- Coordinate the build-up. Review insulation, air and water control layers, cavity or ventilation provisions where specified, support rails and the cladding interface as one assembly. A detail from a related product must not be copied automatically.
- Install approved supports and interfaces. Use the components and spacing specified for the chosen system and substrate. Generic screws, clips or adhesives should not be treated as approved substitutes.
- Fit profiles and trims. Follow the manufacturer’s sequence for starting profiles, field profiles, corners, openings and terminations. Keep protective films and finished surfaces free from cutting debris.
- Inspect before closing access. Check line, level, reveal consistency, colour batches, drainage paths, opening clearances and fastener engagement. Photograph concealed work for the project record.
- Complete handover. Provide the owner with the product identification, cleaning method, warranty conditions, replacement information and any inspection schedule.
Façade and interior uses are not interchangeable
An interior feature wall may have different moisture, impact, fire and access conditions from an exposed façade. Exterior work also requires coordination with the building envelope, flashings, movement joints and local weather exposure. The same visual profile can therefore require different supporting details or approvals in the two locations.
Confirm fire classification, wind and structural design, corrosion exposure, water management, thermal movement and code obligations with the project’s qualified designer and current local documentation. The available manufacturer material does not establish one universal performance specification for every country, building type or Linarte configuration.
Linarte and Linius: related systems, different directions
Renson describes Linius as a horizontal cladding system. Its product information discusses open and closed designs and uses involving ventilation or screening. Those characteristics belong to Linius and should not be assigned to Linarte simply because both are aluminium cladding families.
| Characteristic | Linarte | Linius |
|---|---|---|
| Profile direction described by Renson | Vertical | Horizontal |
| Applications described by the manufacturer | Façades and interior walls | Cladding, screening and ventilation-related applications |
| Configuration information | Different profile types and colours; integration with doors, gates and curved façade elements is described | Open or closed designs are described |
| Technical assembly example in the available material | Project-specific details must be confirmed for the selected configuration | A technical illustration shows a load-bearing wall, insulation, framing, aluminium mullions, clips and profiles |
The Linius technical illustration demonstrates why a cladding drawing must be read as a complete build-up. It does not specify an installation for every Linarte project, and a Linius rain-repellency test statement cannot be transferred to vertical Linarte cladding.

Cleaning and ongoing care
Renson states that Linarte can be cleaned with lukewarm soapy water or a cloth. That is a manufacturer instruction for routine care, not a licence to use any chemical, abrasive pad or pressure-washing setting. Follow the selected finish’s care and warranty documents, and test an inconspicuous area if the instructions permit testing.
- Remove dust and loose soil before wiping so particles do not scratch the finish.
- Use the manufacturer’s recommended solution and a clean, non-abrasive cloth.
- Rinse or wipe away residue as directed, especially where salts or airborne pollutants can accumulate.
- Inspect corners, bases, drainage paths and opening interfaces during cleaning.
- Record any coating damage and ask the supplier for an approved repair method rather than applying an unapproved touch-up product.
“Cleaning can be done using lukewarm soapy water, or simply using a cloth,” Renson says on its product page. The quotation is a manufacturer statement; maintenance frequency should reflect the site’s exposure and the finish documentation supplied with the project.
Cost, quotation and procurement
There is no reliable universal price per square metre for a configurable aluminium cladding system. Renson says price depends on the cladding type, material, dimensions and extra options, and directs customers to its approved distributor network for a quote.
Provide the distributor with measured elevations, opening schedules, profile and colour choices, corner and termination details, access constraints and the required delivery or installation scope. Request a quote that separates material, fabrication, trims, support components, freight and labour. Confirm whether taxes, site measures, shop drawings and waste allowances are included.

Copying details from another system
Open, closed and ventilation details associated with horizontal Linius cladding should not be applied to Linarte by analogy. Use the selected system’s current drawings.
Ignoring movement and tolerances
Long, repeated profiles make small deviations visible. Establish substrate tolerances, movement allowances and joint treatment before ordering lengths.

Doors, gates and windows determine the grid. Coordinate them in the first elevation study, including hardware clearances and maintenance access.

Large areas, orientation, daylight and adjacent materials change how a finish is perceived. Approve a representative sample or mock-up where colour is critical.
A practical decision checklist
- Is the desired effect a fine, quiet rhythm or a pronounced relief?
- Will the same profile and finish continue from façade to interior, or are separate specifications needed?
- Where must vertical lines align with doors, gates, windows and corners?
- Are curves genuine system-supported elements with a confirmed radius and detail?
- What substrate, insulation and envelope layers sit behind the profiles?
- Which local fire, structural, weather and warranty requirements apply?
- Who will issue the shop drawings and approve substitutions?
- What cleaning products, methods and inspection records will the owner receive?
Bottom line for a clean, pure result
Vertical aluminium wall cladding succeeds when the visual grid and the construction details are designed together. Linarte offers a manufacturer-defined route to vertical profiles on façades and interior walls, with profile, colour and integration choices that can extend to doors, gates and curved elements. The clean appearance comes from disciplined alignment and consistent detailing; it should not be confused with a universal performance rating or a one-size-fits-all installation.
Start with a profile and finish mock-up, coordinate every opening and corner, obtain the selected system’s current technical documents, and price the complete support-and-trim package through an approved distributor. That process protects both the architectural idea and the building’s practical requirements.
