The 2013 Oreogami Oreo Animation featured Kelly Cheatle and Larry Moss turning Oreo cookies into an animation with a craft knife. The original Make: post identifies the collaborators and materials, but it does not explain the frame-by-frame technique or full production setup.
Who made the Oreogami Oreo animation?
Make: published the video post on February 18, 2013. Writer Haley Pierson-Cox credited Kelly Cheatle and her creative partner Larry Moss with making the animation. Pierson-Cox praised Cheatle’s cookie work, writing, “This probably goes without saying, but I’m totally in awe of what this lady can do with Oreo cookies and a craft knife.” That is the writer’s reaction, not a statement from either creator.
The clip was part of a broader project: a Visit Rochester press release about the creators says Moss and Cheatle made The Cookie Chronicles, a series of three short videos for Oreo that they called “Oreogami.” The release does not name or describe all three shorts.

The published account establishes only a few production details: Oreo cookies were used, a craft knife was involved, and Cheatle and Moss collaborated. It does not identify the knife model, camera, animation software, lighting, or other equipment, nor does it give a step-by-step account of how the cookies were moved or filmed. A complete workflow cannot be inferred from the post alone.

Is this the Oreo Crispy&Thin “Oreogami” campaign?
No. A separate Oreo Crispy&Thin campaign also used the name Oreogami, but it is a different project with different credits and a paper-origami concept. Studio Pandora’s project page describes the campaign as “Thin like paper” and credits Bitmama as agency, Studio Pandora for production and post, and Francesco Catarinolo as director, with additional CG and 3D roles. Its described workflow includes character modeling, materials, textures, lighting, rendering, compositing, and editing. The 2019 NC Digital Awards shortlist separately lists “OreoCrispy&Thin – Oreogami” with Bitmama and Mondelez. Those credits and production details belong to the later Crispy&Thin campaign, not the 2013 cookie animation.
