Vietnamese New Year 2025 pictures show Tết Nguyên Đán, commonly shortened to Tết: Vietnam’s lunar New Year and a major celebration in Vietnamese culture. Vietnam Tourism lists the 2025 event from 29 January to 2 February; the range is an event listing, not a limit on when preparations or customs take place. For images with a distinctly Vietnamese context, look for family gatherings, home preparations, ancestor veneration, lucky-money greetings, and seasonal flowers and trees.

What Vietnamese New Year 2025 pictures depict
Tết celebrates the arrival of spring according to the Vietnamese lunar calendar. Its full name is Tết Nguyên Đán, with Tết used as the short form. The 2025 Tết event listing runs from 29 January to 2 February 2025, according to Vietnam Tourism.
Pictures tagged “Vietnamese New Year 2025” can show preparations before the listed dates as well as celebrations during them. The dates identify the event range; they do not mean every household tradition occurs only within those five days.
Recognizable Tết picture ideas
Family gatherings and visits
Family reunion is central to Tết imagery. Photos may show relatives gathering at home or visiting friends and neighbours. A visit on the first day of the new year is known as xông nhà. Vietnam Tourism also describes visiting relatives, friends, and neighbours as part of the holiday’s customs.
Preparing the home
Cleaning and preparing the home before Tết offers a more everyday view of the holiday than a posed greeting-card scene. These preparations are part of the seasonal picture, even when they happen before the official event dates.

Ancestor veneration and greetings
Ancestor veneration and the exchange of New Year greetings are among the customs described by Vietnam Tourism. Images of these moments can provide cultural context beyond generic fireworks or countdown imagery.
Lucky money
Some Tết pictures show lucky money being given to children or older people. Vietnam Tourism includes this practice among its examples of New Year customs.

Blossoms and kumquat trees
Seasonal plants make distinctive subjects for Tết pictures. Vietnam Tourism’s traveller guide describes peach, apricot, and plum blossoms, as well as kumquat trees, among the holiday decorations.
How to choose a culturally grounded image
- Look for context, not just color. Family visits, home preparations, ancestor veneration, greetings, and lucky-money giving connect an image to documented Tết customs.
- Check the plants and setting. Peach, apricot, or plum blossoms and kumquat trees are seasonal decorative motifs described by Vietnam Tourism.
- Confirm where and when the image was made. Do not assume every picture labeled “Vietnamese New Year” depicts Vietnam or a particular year. Use a caption or photographer credit for location and date when available.
- Respect variation. These are documented customs and motifs, not a checklist followed identically by every household.
- Check reuse rights separately. Cultural descriptions do not grant permission to reuse photographs. Confirm the license or obtain permission from the image owner before publishing or reproducing a picture.
Finding pictures versus finding cultural context
The official tourism pages cited here explain Tết dates, customs, and seasonal decorations; they are not presented as a verified downloadable gallery of 2025 pictures. Their cultural descriptions can help you assess whether an image fits the subject, but the image’s location, date, creator, and reuse terms need to be established from the image source itself.

For broader cultural context, the Viet Nam National Authority of Tourism overview of Tet also discusses the holiday.
