Water Colors is a quilt by Ledine Watson that AllPeopleQuilt featured in a summer 2023 quilt-along. The sew-along ran from June 1 through July 13, 2023, but the organizer said participants could sew at their own pace. The project is best approached as a historical quilt-along: its page describes the pattern and event, not a currently running program.
What is the Water Colors quilt?
Water Colors is a quilt project by Ledine Watson featured in AllPeopleQuilt’s 2023 summer quilt-along. The official page, published May 11, 2023, describes the project, its size options, and ways to access the pattern. The page also notes that the American Patchwork & Quilting staff collectively had over 70 years of quilting experience; that figure refers to staff experience, not testing time for this particular pattern or an independent certification.

What fabric do you need?
AllPeopleQuilt describes the quilt as fat-quarter-friendly and recommends fat quarters plus background fabric. You can start with a fat-quarter bundle or choose fabrics from your stash; the page does not require a particular color palette or branded collection.
The page text reviewed does not give yardage amounts. Check the pattern’s requirements for the size you plan to make before purchasing fabric, especially for the larger bed sizes. Do not estimate quantities from the finished dimensions alone.

The 2023 page lists three pattern-access routes: the June 2023 issue of American Patchwork & Quilting, an individual PDF or printed pattern, and a digital June 2023 issue through Zinio for international readers. During the event, participants could use a private Facebook group for weekly tips, extras, questions, and progress pictures. Instagram participants were invited to share progress with #APQQuiltalong. The 2023 page does not establish whether the group remains active or what its current terms are.
