Atkar’s documented installation on the Caulfield–Dandenong SkyRail project is at Noble Park station, where its own listing names ExoTec and Goldcore Light panels. That record does not establish that Atkar supplied panels to every station in the corridor, nor does it give a quantity, area or station-by-station schedule. Separately, the project contractor reports large quantities of RMP cladding and custom acrylic panels across the wider works, but does not attribute those totals to Atkar.

The direct answer: ExoTec and Goldcore Light at Noble Park
Atkar’s architectural news listing identifies an installation titled “ExoTec & Goldcore Light at Noble Park Train Station.” It places those two named systems within the Metro Trains Sky Rail project on the Caulfield–Dandenong corridor. This is the clearest product attribution available: Atkar associates ExoTec and Goldcore Light with Noble Park.

The listing does not state how many panels were used, the area covered, where on the station they were fitted, who fabricated individual components, or whether the same specification was repeated elsewhere. It also has no visible publication date. Those omissions matter because a project-wide description can easily be mistaken for a complete Atkar supply record.

What the evidence does—and does not—show about the other stations
The corridor project created five elevated stations, but the available Atkar record names only Noble Park. There is no station-by-station Atkar schedule showing ExoTec or Goldcore Light at the other four locations. It is therefore inaccurate to say that Atkar supplied all five stations, or that every panel visible along the corridor came from Atkar.

How Noble Park fits into the wider SkyRail works
The Caulfield–Dandenong level-crossing removal project was a major piece of Victorian rail infrastructure delivered during 2016–2018. Its headline structural change was the removal of nine level crossings and construction of five elevated stations. Raising the railway released land beneath and alongside the tracks for community and transport uses rather than leaving a series of road-and-rail intersections at ground level.
Project architect Jonathan Gardiner of Cox Architecture described the spatial consequence this way: “The benefit of elevating the rail, was the creation of a significant area of ‘new’ community land under and adjacent to the rail corridor.” The quotation was published by Architecture & Design and captures why the station finishes should be read as part of a larger urban intervention, not as an isolated façade exercise.

A March 2017 community update from Victoria’s Big Build discussed design changes to the stations and corridor. It also referred to solar panels on station canopies and upgrades to power, signalling, platforms and other rail infrastructure. These elements explain the setting in which cladding and feature panels were coordinated: a live public transport project involving structures, services, public circulation and newly created ground-level space.
Separate Atkar’s record from the contractor’s panel totals
Aus Group Alliance’s project portfolio describes its own Skyrail work as supplying and installing two substantial panel packages. The figures are project-level totals for the 2016–2018 works, not an Atkar product count.
| Panel package in the contractor account | Reported quantity and area | Fabrication description | Atkar attribution? |
|---|---|---|---|
| RMP cladding | More than 8,500 panels over 22,000 square metres | Custom moulded to the architects’ design; the intended pattern and colour took a ten-month process to achieve | Not attributed to Atkar |
| Acrylic panels | More than 8,000 panels over 14,000 square metres | Individually custom machined; names of specific train stations were etched on their surfaces | Not attributed to Atkar |
Those numbers should not be added to an Atkar case study as if they were ExoTec or Goldcore Light quantities. The contractor page does not say that Atkar supplied the RMP cladding, the acrylic panels or either complete package. It records the scale of the wider project and the specialist fabrication involved, while Atkar’s listing records a named Noble Park installation.

What “custom” means in the documented project record
RMP cladding
The contractor says the RMP cladding was custom moulded to the architects’ design. It reports a ten-month development process to achieve the intended pattern and colour. That is evidence of a design-led, project-specific cladding package; it is not evidence that the cladding was an Atkar system.

Acrylic panels
The same account says each acrylic panel was custom machined and that station names were etched into the surfaces. This detail helps explain how the project could carry location-specific identity across a large corridor. It should not be transferred to ExoTec or Goldcore Light: the available sources do not establish station-name etching as a feature of either Atkar product at Noble Park.
Why product attribution matters when reading station photographs
Large stations contain several visible layers: structural steel, roofs and canopies, balustrades, screens, wall linings, signage and decorative or interpretive panels. A photograph may show multiple materials in one frame, while a project portfolio may group several trades under one heading. Without a schedule or drawing, visual similarity cannot prove that two panels share a manufacturer.

- Bates paint brushes can be used for both oil-based paints as well as latex stains and are ideal for home or commercial projects such as decks, fences or DIY painting jobs.
For this project, the safest reading is documentary rather than visual. Atkar’s own listing is the basis for naming ExoTec and Goldcore Light at Noble Park. Aus Group Alliance’s account is the basis for the RMP and acrylic totals and their fabrication descriptions. Neither source supplies a complete cross-reference between those packages.
A station-by-station comparison that the sources support
| Comparison point | Noble Park | Other four elevated stations |
|---|---|---|
| Atkar product named | ExoTec and Goldcore Light are identified in Atkar’s listing | Not stated |
| Atkar quantity or area | Not stated | Not stated |
| Project-wide RMP and acrylic work | Included in the contractor’s overall SkyRail description, but not assigned to Atkar | Overall project inclusion is described; station allocation is not stated |
| Station-name etching | Described for the project’s acrylic panels, not linked to Atkar’s systems | Specific station allocation is not stated |
| Public-space outcome | Part of the elevated-rail corridor that created land beneath and beside the rail line | The same project-wide outcome applies; individual precinct differences are not detailed in the cited material |
What the project tells designers and specifiers
The record offers a useful division of responsibilities for anyone studying the stations or preparing a comparable specification. First, identify the exact station and package being discussed. “Atkar at Noble Park” is a supportable description; “Atkar across SkyRail” is broader than the evidence allows. Second, keep the product name attached to its source: ExoTec and Goldcore Light come from Atkar’s Noble Park listing, while RMP and acrylic quantities come from the contractor’s project account.
Third, treat missing schedule information as genuinely unknown. The available material does not provide acoustic results, cost, maintenance requirements, durability testing, fire classifications, fixing details, coating schedules or station-by-station quantities for the named Atkar systems. Those are specification questions that require project drawings, certificates, submittals or direct manufacturer and contractor documentation rather than inference from photographs or portfolio totals.

How the panel work supported the wider public-realm strategy
The five elevated stations were not delivered as stand-alone objects. Removing nine level crossings changed how roads, pedestrians and rail users moved through the corridor, while the viaducts created under-rail areas that could be planned as community space. The architect’s account places that newly available land at the centre of the design rationale.
Within that setting, patterned cladding, colour development and individually machined acrylic panels served a broader architectural task: making a long, repetitive rail intervention legible and specific to its places. The contractor’s ten-month pattern-and-colour process and the etched station names indicate deliberate visual differentiation. They do not, however, identify which supplier made every visible component.
A practical checklist for citing the installation accurately
- Name the location first. Say Noble Park station when referring to Atkar’s documented installation.
- Use the recorded product names. Identify ExoTec and Goldcore Light exactly as Atkar does.
- Separate package totals. Quote the RMP and acrylic figures as Aus Group Alliance’s project-wide account, not as Atkar quantities.
- Qualify the acrylic detail. Station-name etching belongs to the contractor’s description of custom acrylic panels; it is not established as an ExoTec or Goldcore Light feature.
- Do not fill gaps with assumptions. If a quantity, area, station allocation or performance value is needed, mark it as not stated and obtain the project documentation.
What remains unknown about Atkar’s Noble Park scope
Several practical questions remain unanswered by the published listing: the number of ExoTec panels, the number of Goldcore Light panels, their total area, exact mounting zones, panel dimensions, colour or finish selections, fabrication subcontractors and installation dates. The source also does not say whether Atkar’s work extended beyond Noble Park within the corridor.

Bottom line for readers researching the Caulfield–Dandenong stations
Noble Park is the station for which Atkar names its ExoTec and Goldcore Light panels. The Caulfield–Dandenong project as a whole used more than 8,500 RMP cladding panels across 22,000 square metres and more than 8,000 custom acrylic panels across 14,000 square metres, according to Aus Group Alliance, but those totals are not an Atkar product record. The reliable distinction is therefore between one documented Atkar installation and a much larger, separately described corridor-wide panel program.
