“Smartphone frame” can mean a replaceable frame accessory for a phone case, a digital photo frame that displays pictures sent from a smartphone, or the structural frame inside a phone. Those are different products. If you are looking for a changeable case component, MOPE sells a Metal Mope Frame that attaches to a compatible MOPE Base; if you mean a screen for sharing phone photos, HONOR and Loop describe digital photo frames instead.
What kind of smartphone frame are you looking for?
- A frame for a phone case: A physical accessory that attaches to a particular case system. MOPE’s Metal Mope Frame is one example.
- A digital photo frame for phone pictures: A separate display that can receive photos or videos from a smartphone. HONOR and Loop describe phone-to-frame upload workflows.
- A phone’s structural frame: The internal or external structure of the handset itself. Project Ara, for example, was a modular-phone concept described with an endoskeletal frame; that historical reference does not establish a current retail product.
This article focuses on distinguishing these meanings and understanding MOPE’s case accessory. It does not assess phone-frame durability or recommend a tested product shortlist.
How MOPE’s replaceable phone frame works
MOPE describes a system with two distinct parts: the MOPE Base, which serves as the phone case, and a changeable frame that attaches to that Base. The Metal Mope Frame is therefore not, by itself, the case. Check MOPE’s Metal Mope Frame and system information for the current product details.

Check compatibility before buying
Confirm that both the frame and the MOPE Base fit your exact phone model. A frame that attaches to a Base is useful only if that Base is compatible with the handset. The product information available here does not establish a complete current compatibility list, price, availability, or return terms, so verify those directly with the seller before ordering.
Know which component you need
- If you do not already have a compatible MOPE Base, check whether you need to purchase the Base as well as the decorative frame.
- If you own the Base, confirm that the replacement frame is intended for that specific Base and phone model.
- Compare material and finish only after establishing compatibility; the available product information does not support claims about tested durability or a broader product ranking.
A digital photo frame is a different product
A digital photo frame receives or displays pictures from a smartphone; it is not an accessory that surrounds or protects the phone. HONOR describes cloud uploads from a phone to its Choice Digital Photo Frame, while Loop describes sending photos and videos from a phone to a frame. These are examples of the category, not a tested shortlist.

HONOR’s UK product page lists an 11-inch display with 1920 × 1200 resolution; the page’s publication year is not stated. See HONOR Choice Digital Photo Frame for the product’s current specifications and workflow. Loop’s description of phone-to-frame sharing is available at Loop’s digital photo frame information.
If you meant a digital frame, assess screen size and resolution, how uploads work, whether storage or cloud access is required, and where the frame will sit and get power. Those factors are more relevant than case fit or phone-frame materials.

What to verify before choosing a phone-case frame
- Identify your exact phone model.
- Confirm that the MOPE Base is designed for that model.
- Check that the Metal Mope Frame attaches to that Base; do not assume a frame is a standalone case.
- Review the current finish, availability, price, and return terms with the seller, since these details can change.
Project Ara is useful only as historical context for the phrase “phone frame”: its modular endoskeletal concept is not evidence that a comparable modular phone is currently sold. See the Project Ara concept reference.
