You can find vintage Christmas decorations online through a mix of large marketplaces, specialist dealer platforms, and small, seller-curated shops. The nine destinations below cover antique and vintage Christmas ornaments, traditional-style reproductions, Putz houses, Santa pieces, festive tableware, textiles, and other seasonal decor.
They are not interchangeable. A marketplace may show thousands of listings from unrelated sellers, while a single shop offers a narrower assortment selected by one retailer. Always treat the individual listing—not the category name—as the source of truth for age, condition, provenance, price, returns, and delivery.

What these nine destinations actually offer
“Vintage Christmas decor” can mean an original object made decades ago, a newer item designed in an old-fashioned style, or a newly made piece produced with historical techniques. The distinction matters for authenticity, condition, pricing, and care. Some listings may use “vintage” to describe appearance rather than age, so read the description and inspect the photographs before paying.
| Destination | Business type | Best starting point | Vintage status and checks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Etsy | Open marketplace | Broad searches for ornaments and holiday collectibles | Original vintage and new handmade or vintage-style goods appear together; verify age and seller details listing by listing. |
| Chairish | Dealer marketplace | Curated holiday decor, ornaments, stockings, greenery, skirts and toppers | Descriptions and condition reports vary by dealer; confirm measurements, damage and return terms. |
| ChristmasVintage | Specialist Etsy storefront | Vintage ornaments and other Christmas goods | The shop describes its inventory as vintage; check each item’s photos, dimensions and condition. |
| ChezEviesHolidayShop | Specialist Etsy storefront | Unusual ornaments, holiday collectibles and decor | Assortment is seller-curated; confirm materials, age and shipping policy per listing. |
| AltmodischChristmas | Specialist Etsy storefront | Ornaments, tree goods, books, clothing, kitchen items and gift wrap | Inventory mixes seasonal categories; ask about flaws and completeness where a listing is unclear. |
| 1stDibs | Professional dealer marketplace | Higher-end pieces and German glass baubles | Dealer listings can provide stronger provenance, but Christmas stock changes; review the current listing and dealer terms. |
| Ruby Lane | Antique and vintage marketplace | Decorative objects and occasional holiday finds | Christmas selection is not guaranteed; confirm that a current listing matches your need before relying on the platform. |
| Leben Riebe | Single Christmas shop | Traditional-looking Putz houses and related decor | The cited selection includes vintage-style reproductions; do not assume a piece is an original antique. |
| Festive Collective | Single specialist shop | German papier-mâché Santas and trees | These are new pieces made with traditional methods and historical molds, not vintage originals. |
Chairish displayed 2,441 items in its vintage holiday category on October 13, 2026. That number is a dated inventory snapshot, not a permanent count. Marketplace stock, prices and delivery coverage can change daily.

Nine places to browse
Etsy: the broadest first search
Etsy is an open marketplace rather than one vintage dealer. Its antique and vintage Christmas ornament results have included West Germany glass ornaments, mercury glass baubles, glass Santa pieces and tree toppers. That breadth makes it useful when you know a category but not a seller.

Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →The same search can return new handmade ornaments and reproductions. Filter by material, era or style, then read the seller’s wording for manufacturing date, country of origin and whether the item is being sold as “vintage style.” Compare several listings before deciding that a price reflects age rather than scarcity or presentation.
Chairish: a dedicated holiday-decor collection
Chairish maintains a “Shop Vintage Holiday Decor” collection with navigation for ornaments, stockings, greenery, tree skirts, holiday accents and tree toppers. It is a dealer marketplace, so each listing can have a different seller, condition standard, shipping arrangement and return policy.
Use the photographs to check paint loss, dents, missing caps, wiring and repairs. Ask for packed dimensions when a fragile item is unusually large, and confirm whether shipping insurance is included. The platform’s large, changing inventory is an advantage for comparison shopping, but it also means a saved search may look different a week later.
ChristmasVintage: a focused Etsy storefront
ChristmasVintage is a named Etsy holiday shop whose description says it carries vintage goods, including ornaments and other Christmas items. A specialist storefront can save time because its inventory is already seasonal, but it still requires listing-level checks.

If an ornament is described by country or period, compare that claim with visible markings and ask the seller for additional photographs when the evidence is not clear.
ChezEviesHolidayShop: unusual ornaments and collectibles
ChezEviesHolidayShop specifically describes unusual Christmas ornaments, holiday collectibles and decor. It is a useful stop when a generic search produces too many mass-market results and you want a more idiosyncratic assortment.
“Unusual” does not establish rarity or investment value. Check the exact material, dimensions and condition notes, especially for papier-mâché, spun cotton, pressed cardboard and thin glass. Confirm whether a flaw is original wear, a later repair or simply a shadow in the photograph.
AltmodischChristmas: ornaments plus non-ornament holiday goods
AltmodischChristmas says it offers vintage Christmas clothing, books, decor, tree goods, kitchen goods and gift wrap. Its displayed inventory has included vintage ornaments, so it can be helpful if you are furnishing an entire holiday setting rather than buying one centerpiece.
Rank #2
- Guiding Light: This Rudolph TV ornament recalls the 1964 classic, a glowing symbol of hope and a perfect gift of childhood wonder and tradition.
- Sparkling Screen: Hand-painted red TV with glittered frame, glossy finish, and tiny painted Rudolph scene - a perfect gift.
- Timeless Keepsake: A traditional glass ornament, perfect as a nostalgic stocking stuffer or gift for the young at heart
- Handcrafted Quality: Made from mouth-blown glass and hand-painted with traditional techniques from the 1800s.
- Timeless Collectible: Crafted to endure for generations, this ornament maintains its quality year after year, bringing lasting beauty and holiday joy.
Because categories are mixed, search within the shop and read every title carefully. A vintage book or textile may be seasonal without being a Christmas decoration, and a “tree good” may require missing hardware or special storage. Request measurements for textiles and tabletop pieces before combining them with an existing collection.
1stDibs: higher-end dealer listings
Homes & Gardens identifies 1stDibs as a higher-end source for vintage holiday decor and reports that German glass baubles from Lauscha are among its sought-after listings. A general vintage-marketplace guide describes the platform as hosting vetted professional dealers, galleries and makers, with more than 6,000 sellers across more than 50 countries; that figure is for the overall marketplace, not Christmas inventory.
Professional-dealer listings may include more detailed provenance, but “vetted” does not remove the need to read condition reports. Ask whether an attribution is documented, whether the price includes shipping, and what happens if a fragile piece arrives damaged. Confirm the seller’s return window before ordering internationally.
Ruby Lane: an antique marketplace to check selectively
Ruby Lane is described as an antique and vintage marketplace for furniture, lighting, art and decorative objects. It can produce relevant holiday finds, but a Christmas-specific selection is not guaranteed at any particular time.

Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Use it as a targeted search rather than assuming the platform is stocked for the season. Confirm that the current listing is genuinely a Christmas object, not merely a red or green decorative item, and review seller photographs, measurements, shipping insurance and return conditions.
Leben Riebe: traditional-looking Putz houses
The collectible-decor coverage identifies a Christmas store at Leben Riebe offering vintage-style Putz houses. Putz villages are small architectural displays traditionally made from paper, cardboard or related materials, and they are often sold as individual houses or coordinated scenes.
Here, “vintage-style” is the important qualifier. A newly made house can provide the look of an old display without being an antique. Check construction materials, lighting requirements, scale and whether a base, chimney, bottle-brush tree or other accessory is included.
Festive Collective: new work made with old methods
Festive Collective, a Chicago shop, is described as offering custom papier-mâché Santas and trees made in Germany using traditional methods and molds. Founder Angela Wator explained in Homes & Gardens: “Our most sought-after decorations are neither vintage nor modern, but new items that have been made using traditional methods.”
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsThese pieces belong in a vintage-inspired collection, not an original-vintage category. Their value is in workmanship, design and continuity of technique. Ask about production time for custom work, dimensions, finish, indoor-use limits and the policy for transit damage.

How to tell original vintage from a reproduction
Read the language precisely
“Antique,” “vintage,” “retro,” “vintage-inspired,” “reproduction” and “made with vintage molds” are not synonyms. An original vintage ornament was made in an earlier period; a reproduction copies an earlier form; a new piece made with an old mold is still new. If the listing does not state an approximate date or manufacturing history, treat its age as unconfirmed.
Use construction clues without overclaiming
- Look for manufacturer marks, country labels, mold seams, hanging caps, electrical fittings and original packaging.
- Compare front, back, top and base photographs; a single styled image can hide repairs or missing parts.
- Ask whether paint, glitter, flocking or wiring is original, replaced or restored.
- Request exact height, width and depth. Small ornaments can look large in close-up photographs.
- For paper and papier-mâché, check for warping, foxing, insect damage, tears and water staining.
None of these clues alone proves authenticity. Provenance is strongest when the seller explains where the object came from and supports the description with clear images or documentation.
Search paths for a more specific collection
Searching by object type usually produces better results than typing only “vintage Christmas decor.” Useful terms include:
Recommended Free Tools
- German glass ornaments: Try “Lauscha glass,” “West Germany glass ornament,” “mercury glass bauble” and “glass Santa.” Homes & Gardens quotes 1stDibs editorial director Anthony Barzilay Freund: “Among the most sought-after vintage holiday decorations on 1stDibs are those that come from Germany, especially the fine glass baubles that have been made in the town of Lauscha since the mid-19th century.” This is an expert observation, not a guarantee of value.
- Other glass forms: Collectors cited by Homes & Gardens also discuss Polish teardrop and indented ornaments and Kugel decorations.
- Santa pieces: Search glass, china and papier-mâché Santas, plus Holt-Howard Santa mugs.
- Miniature displays: Use “Putz house,” “Putz village” and “lighted paper house,” then verify scale and electrical details.
- Table settings: Search festive tableware, holiday textiles, table runners, napkins and tree skirts separately.
- Packaging and makers: Original boxes, labels and branded packaging can help establish period, but packaging alone does not prove that the object inside is original.
Condition, price and delivery checks before checkout
Evaluate the listing, not the category average
There is no reliable uniform price ranking across these destinations. A hand-painted ornament, a damaged rare-looking piece and a newly made reproduction can appear under similar search terms at very different prices. Compare condition, material, size, maker, provenance and completeness before comparing dollars.
Ask the questions photographs cannot answer
- Are there cracks, chips, dents, touch-ups, replaced hangers or odors?
- Is the stated measurement the object alone or the object with its box and stand?
- Does a lighted house include a cord, bulb, adapter and tested wiring?
- Has the piece been stored in smoke-free, dry conditions?
- Will the seller combine shipping, insure the parcel and provide tracking?
Check policies for fragile goods
Return windows, restocking fees, international duties and damage claims vary by seller and platform. Save the listing photographs and description when you order. Open the parcel promptly, photograph the packaging before discarding it, and report transit damage according to the seller’s stated deadline.
What collectors look for—and what that does not mean
Homes & Gardens quotes collector and shop founder Leben Riebe: “The most sought-after Christmas decorations really vary since there are so many different categories that people collect.” That variety is why a personal collecting theme is more useful than a generic rarity list.
Potential themes include Lauscha or Polish glass, Santa figures, Putz architecture, festive tableware, textiles, or objects retaining original packaging. Homes & Gardens also reports that Spode’s Christmas Tree pattern was first produced in 1938; treat that date as the publication’s report unless you verify it with Spode directly. The same article says Ino Schaller’s family business has used molds developed by its ancestors since 1894, another historical claim that should be read as reported rather than as an independent authentication of every listing.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Collectibility is not a promise of appreciation. Buy an object because its design, history, scale and condition suit your display, and consider future storage before choosing fragile paper or glass.
A practical buying sequence
- Define the object and look you want: for example, German glass baubles, a Putz village or a Santa-themed table.
- Start with Etsy or Chairish to see the range, then compare specialist shops and dealer platforms for more focused inventory.
- Separate original vintage from vintage-style reproductions in your notes and saved searches.
- Shortlist listings with clear photographs, dimensions, condition statements and seller history.
- Message the seller about any missing detail before paying, especially for fragile, wired or internationally shipped pieces.
- Confirm total cost, insurance, delivery date, duties and return terms, then document the parcel when it arrives.
With that process, the nine destinations function as a starting map rather than a claim that every listing is authentic, available or suitable for every location.
