Enware’s barrier-free range comprises four documented, wall-mounted drinking fountains: Deluxe Accessible (CDF300DC), Deluxe Accessible Hi-Lo (CDF320DC), Accessible Hi-Lo (CDF340DC) and Accessible (CDF330DC). Enware says each model can be specified with or without a chiller, so accessibility configuration and water cooling are separate choices.
Those names come from Enware’s product literature, not an independent accessibility audit. For a live project, confirm the current technical sheet, dimensions, clearances, plumbing requirements, applicable local rules and availability before you place a schedule or purchase order.

The four Enware fountains identified as barrier-free
Enware’s Water Chillers brochure groups four products under “Barrier Free” and describes them as accessible drinking fountains. The brochure identifies all four as wall-mounted:

What “accessible” and “hi-lo” mean in this range
Accessible is the base configuration label
Enware separates the products labelled “Accessible” from those labelled “Accessible Hi-Lo.” The brochure does not provide a full dimensional drawing or a performance schedule in the material available here, so it would be unsafe to infer reach ranges, bowl heights, knee clearances or approach geometry from the name alone. Treat “Accessible” as the manufacturer’s configuration description, then check the current model drawing against the project’s requirements.

“Hi-Lo” is used in two model names—CDF320DC and CDF340DC—indicating that Enware offers a hi-lo version in both its Deluxe Accessible and standard Accessible families. The retrieved brochure excerpt does not state the two outlet or bowl heights, the adjustment range, or the clearances. A hi-lo label therefore helps you identify the intended product family, but it is not a substitute for reviewing the dimensional schedule.
Deluxe is a family distinction, not a compliance grade
The names “Deluxe Accessible” and “Accessible” distinguish Enware families. The source does not define a hierarchy in which Deluxe is more compliant, nor does it publish an independent test result comparing the two. Select between CDF300DC/CDF320DC and CDF330DC/CDF340DC by the project brief and the current technical data, not by assuming that one label guarantees a better accessibility outcome.
Standard or hi-lo: a practical selection decision
Start with the users and the room layout, then use the model names to narrow the shortlist. Because the supplied product literature does not state dimensions, the following is a decision framework rather than a claim about the physical geometry of a particular model.

Do not choose a hi-lo model simply because a project has a mixed-age or mixed-height user population. Confirm that the actual arrangement, clearances and approach comply with the governing standard and fit the room’s circulation paths.
Can an Enware accessible fountain be chilled?
Yes. Enware’s brochure states that all four barrier-free wall-mounted models are available with or without a chiller. Cooling is therefore an option across the range rather than a feature limited to the Deluxe or hi-lo names.
Specify the thermal option separately from the accessibility configuration. A chilled unit can require electrical supply, ventilation and service access that a non-chilled unit does not. The brochure excerpt does not state current power loads, cooling capacity, operating temperatures, cabinet dimensions or installation clearances, so those values must come from the current technical sheet for the exact model and configuration.
Why model suffixes need checking
A South Australian education design reference provides a useful example of how Enware selections may be written. Its “Design Standards – Education – South Australia” document is version 1, dated February 2023, and lists CDF330D for a standard wall-mounted barrier-free drinking fountain, CDF330DC for the chilled option, and CDF340D for a standard hi-lo wall-mounted option. The document is available as a South Australia education design PDF.

This D/DC distinction appears in that dated example, while the brochure’s family table shows DC codes for the named products and says chilled and unchilled versions are available. Do not assume that a suffix convention, or the availability of a code in a 2023 document, is still current. Ask Enware or the project’s approved supplier to confirm the live code, chilled status and technical schedule before tender.
How the South Australia reference should be used
The South Australia document is best read as an example specification used in an education-design context, not as a universal instruction for every building type or state. It demonstrates that a specifier may distinguish a standard barrier-free selection (CDF330D/CDF330DC) from a hi-lo selection (CDF340D), and that cooling can be recorded as a separate variant.
For projects outside that jurisdiction, identify the accessibility, plumbing, electrical and building requirements that actually apply. For projects inside it, treat the February 2023 reference as a starting point and confirm whether the authority, school system or current Enware schedule has changed. Codes, standards and product revisions can move independently of a catalog page.
What Enware’s current catalog does—and does not—establish
Enware’s current product catalog groups drinking bubblers and bottle fillers and includes an “AS1428.1 Accessible” category. That organization is useful when searching the manufacturer’s range, but a catalog filter is not model-by-model evidence of compliance. It does not supply the dimensions, test report, installation drawing or certification record needed to approve a specific fountain in a specific building.

When a contract requires compliance with AS 1428.1 or another accessibility rule, have the responsible architect, building-services engineer or access consultant check the exact product and installation. Review the current drawing, mounting details, operating controls, clearances, approach, signage and water services together; a compliant-looking fixture can still fail if it is mounted incorrectly or blocked by adjacent construction.
Do not transfer features from the Blueline Type 100
Enware publishes a separate page for the Blueline Type 100 wall/splashback-mounted bubbler with rubber guard, model BUB219NC. That is a related bubbler, not one of the four barrier-free fountain models.

Keeping these products separate prevents a common schedule error: copying a useful feature from a nearby product page and presenting it as if it were included in the selected accessible model.

- Confirm the current product identity. Write the full description, model code, chilled or unchilled option and any required finish or accessory in the schedule. Reconfirm whether the live code is a D or DC variant where the project documentation uses that convention.
- Obtain the current technical drawing. Check overall dimensions, bowl or outlet heights, mounting points, service zones, connection sizes, drainage details and any stated wall or backing requirements. None of those values should be filled in from the product name.
- Map the access geometry. Compare the drawing with the governing accessibility requirements: clear floor space, approach direction, reach range, knee and toe space, obstruction limits, control operation and any required contrasting or tactile information. Record the responsible reviewer and the applicable edition of the rule.
- Coordinate building services. Confirm cold-water supply, isolation, filtration if specified, waste connection, pressure, drainage, electrical supply for a chiller, ventilation and maintenance access. Coordinate wall framing or backing before linings close.
- Decide whether cooling is justified. Ask the client about expected water temperature, occupancy, climate, energy targets, noise and maintenance. If chilled water is selected, obtain the current chiller performance and installation requirements for that exact fountain.
- Check the room, not just the fixture. Plot the fountain against door swings, corridors, handrails, benches, bottle-fill use, queueing and cleaning access. A wall-mounted fixture still needs an unobstructed approach and a serviceable location.
- Verify supply and lead time in writing. The cited literature does not establish current price, stock or lead time. Obtain a dated quotation and availability confirmation from Enware or the project’s approved channel before promising a program date.
- Inspect at installation and handover. Confirm the installed heights and clearances against the approved drawing, test flow and drainage, check that controls are usable, and retain the final model and configuration record for facilities staff.
Common specification mistakes and their fixes
Listing only “accessible drinking fountain”
That phrase leaves the contractor to guess the family, height arrangement and cooling option. Name the selected Enware description and code, then state whether the unit is chilled or unchilled.

Assuming every DC code means the same thing everywhere
The brochure and the South Australia example present code variants differently. Treat the code shown in a schedule as a purchasing identifier that needs confirmation, not as a universal decoding rule. Attach the current technical sheet to the tender package.

The catalog category helps locate products, but it is not an independent assessment of your installation. Have the project’s qualified reviewer verify the model, layout and applicable edition of the standard.
Copying specifications from another bubbler
WELS rating, flow rate, braille instructions, tactile grips and flow controls published for BUB219NC belong to that product page unless a CDF-specific document repeats them. Keep the evidence tied to the exact model.
Ignoring service access because the fountain is wall mounted
Wall mounting saves floor area but does not eliminate access to valves, waste connections, filters or a chiller. Reserve the service zone shown on the current drawing and coordinate removable panels or adjacent joinery.
What is established—and what still needs project confirmation
