Woodworking Art’s wooden 2023 Toyota Camry is a functional scale-model artwork, not a roadworthy car. Coverage published in late November 2022 describes a 35-day build with hand-carved details, machine-cut sections, and working features including opening body panels and movable steering.
What the wooden Camry is—and when it appeared
The “2023 Toyota Camry” is the model year represented by the wooden replica; the project was covered in late November 2022. Motor.ru identifies the car’s body generation as the XV70. The exact wording of this article’s title is not established as the original video headline.
Woodworking Art is credited with making the replica. Motor.ru identifies the woodworker associated with the channel as Vietnamese maker Trương Văn Đạo. These attributions come from secondary coverage; the creator’s original video was not independently reviewed for this account. Motor.ru

Automotive coverage describes a mix of hand carving and machine cutting. The accounts do not name specific tools or equipment, so the process can be described at that level but not as a verified tool-by-tool tutorial. Building the cabin and details
Sia Magazine says the maker started with a block sized to a printout, then divided the wood into sections for the front, side profile, and rear. Its account describes a handmade cabin with a dashboard, seats with cross-stitching, and a steering wheel, alongside detailed fascias and a mesh grille. Sia Magazine
Other coverage also calls out the grille, engine bay, and interior. The reports do not establish one definitive wood species, so a specific type of wood should not be inferred from descriptions of the finished model.

What moves on the model?
Secondary reports describe opening doors, hood, and trunk, as well as movable steering and wheels and functional suspension. Motor.ru also lists mirrors among the replica’s features. Coverage varies in which mechanisms it enumerates, so these descriptions are reported features rather than a claim that every component has been independently tested.
Those moving parts make the piece more than a static miniature, but they do not make it a drivable vehicle. It is a wooden scale-model artwork; the reports do not establish roadworthiness or vehicle performance.

How long did the carving take?
Reports from Sia Magazine and automotive outlets put the build at 35 days. That is the duration reported by those accounts, not an independently verified time log. HT Auto
What makes the replica stand out
- Silhouette: The project recreates the Camry’s recognizable sedan shape and body curves.
- Interior work: The reported dashboard, seats, and steering wheel bring detail into the cabin, not just the exterior.
- Moving features: Opening panels and reported steering and suspension give the model functional elements.
- Mixed construction approach: Coverage describes both hand carving and machine cutting rather than a purely hand-tool process.
For anyone inspired to attempt a small carving, a general wood-carving chisel set is a possible starting category. The reports do not identify the maker’s tools or brands, and a basic set should not be treated as the equipment used for this build or as a shortcut to reproducing its scale and complexity.

Sources and what they establish
The available descriptions are secondary reports: autoevolution, Motor.ru, and HT Auto published accounts on November 28, 2022; Sia Magazine published its account on January 2, 2023. Together they support the reported build duration, craft process, and features described above, but they do not establish the maker’s current commission terms or whether this particular Camry is for sale.
