Materials
- Paper towel or toilet-paper tube
- Black paint or construction paper
- Black card for wings
- Glue, markers and wiggle eyes
Steps
- Paint the tube black or wrap it in black paper.
- While it dries, cut two wing shapes and draw details with a marker.
- Glue on the wings and eyes, then add a mouth or fangs.
- Let painted tubes dry completely; Crayola’s project directions allow 1–2 hours for drying.
2. Pumpkin Bunting
Finished result: A string of paper pumpkins for a mantel, classroom or doorway.
Materials
- Orange card or construction paper
- Markers, paint or stickers
- Green paper for stems
- String and tape or a hole punch
Steps
- Cut matching pumpkin shapes.
- Decorate faces, stripes or polka dots.
- Add green stems and let wet paint dry.
- Tape the pumpkins to string, or punch holes and thread them.

- Paint or markers

Steps
- Cut a slit from the plate edge toward the center, then make several evenly spaced cuts around the edge.
- Overlap the sections to form a shallow bowl and glue or tape them.
- Decorate with a jack-o’-lantern face, ghost or spiderweb.

Safety and age adjustments

- Treat suggested ages as practical tool-and-step guidance, not developmental guarantees. Simplify designs, pre-cut pieces or switch to stickers for younger children.
