Yudelmis San Emeterio, posting as vanotyarts on TikTok, reimagined familiar Disney princesses with contemporary hair, makeup and clothing while keeping the visual character of the original animation. Her Aurora makeover shows how the series balances modern styling with fidelity to its source artwork.
Aurora’s makeover, detail by detail
In the reported example, San Emeterio changed several recognizable elements of Aurora’s design:
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
- Hair: Aurora’s long hairstyle became two pigtails, finished with a blue clip.
- Makeup: The revision added heavier eyeliner.
- Eyebrows: Her brows were reshaped for a more contemporary look.
- Outfit: The princess received a blue spaghetti-strap dress.
These are styling changes rather than a new character design. Aurora remains identifiable because the makeover works over the existing image instead of replacing its underlying visual language.
How the digital makeover was made
San Emeterio drew directly over an image using a tablet and stylus. The July 2020 report does not identify the tablet brand, stylus model or drawing software, so those details should not be inferred from the finished image.
#1 Best Overall
- Beloved Princess Collection: A set of 8 posters showcasing iconic Princesses, beautifully designed by Nistio
- Room Enchantment: Instantly transform any room into a fairytale wonderland with vibrant and detailed artwork
- Superior Quality: Printed on 350GSM matte coated paper for long-lasting durability and a luxurious finish
- Gift Choice: Delightful gift for birthdays, holidays, or any special occasion to inspire young princesses
- Effortless Decoration: Ready to frame and hang, offering an easy way to bring Disney magic to your home
This workflow lets an artist preserve selected lines, colors and textures while editing individual features. It also makes the before-and-after contrast immediate: viewers can see exactly which parts of the original portrait were retained and which were restyled.
Modern styling without abandoning the original look
San Emeterio said her goal was to keep the changes “as close as possible to the style and texture of the original art.” That aim distinguishes the videos from a wholesale redesign. The pigtails, eyeliner, reshaped brows and blue dress read as present-day fashion choices, but they are rendered to sit within the texture and finish associated with the source illustration.
