9. Tiny beetle details

Coty’s August 15, 2024 announcement named eight Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Beetlejuice Beetlejuice shades: Strange and Unusual (crème red), Tombstone (crème gray), Bio Exorcist (crème lime green), Say it 3 Times (crème purple), Hello my Name is Bob (crème yellow), Weirder & Weirder (crème blue), The Afterlife (crème black), and Ghost with the Most (black-and-white glitter).
The release was described as a limited edition available in select markets for a limited time, so its present stock is not established. Coty also stated that the system can provide “up to 10 days of color and shine” when used with Miracle Gel Color Grip Primer and Top Coat; that is a brand claim, not independent wear testing.
How to recreate the details at home
- Prep the surface. Shape and lightly buff clean nails, then apply base coat and let it dry according to your polish instructions.
- Block in the base color. Apply two thin coats, allowing each coat to dry before adding stripes, drips or miniature art.
- Choose the right tool. Use a fine liner brush for narrow stripes, curls and drip edges; use a dotting tool for dots and beetle bodies.
- Improve liner precision. The featured Capital Hair & Beauty tutorial recommends snipping the end of the liner-brush bristles to make a shorter, more controlled tip.
- Create gradients. For ombré or tie-dye effects, the artist recommends a dry mini beauty-blender sponge. Dab rather than drag, and add several light layers.
- Seal the design. Once the artwork is dry, float top coat over the surface instead of pressing the brush into wet lines.
Choose a route that fits your time and detail level
DIY polish art
Choose solid colors, one accent nail, drips or simple stripes if you are painting at home. Miniature beetles and curved sandworm bands require more control and drying time.
Salon reference
Bring a saved inspiration image and specify nail length, shape, base colors and which details must remain. Published gallery designs credited to named nail-art accounts can help an artist understand the intended line quality and density.
