Travel, location and discovery
Start with Free PSD Travel App, City Guide PSD App, Time Zone App UI or Cinema Guide iOS 7 App when you need examples of place-based browsing, schedules or discovery. Treat these as visual starting points; the titles do not establish maps, geolocation logic, accessibility or responsive layouts.
Social, profiles and content
Social UI App PSD Design Doctors and Profile Screen App PSD are useful for profile-oriented composition. BBC Mobile App, Zebra Blog and Article App UI and Google App offer content-heavy visual references. They are concepts, not official BBC or Google design-system files.
Commerce and transactions
Money Transfer App PSD, Cooking App UI PSD and Flat App UI Full Project Free PSD File can suggest checkout, recipe or transaction screens. A polished PSD does not demonstrate validation, error handling, security, compliance or production readiness.

Reusable component study
UI Kit Beeline App, the two separately listed Mobile App UI Kit entries, Beautiful Free Mobile Application UI Kit PSD, Flat Mobile App Free UI Kit and Modern Mobile App UI are the most likely places to find buttons, controls or repeated layouts. Confirm that layers are actually reusable before planning a full product around them.
Presentation rather than production
3D App Screen Mockup and App Screen Showcase Mockup are intended for portfolios, pitches or case-study images. A device rendering or showcase image is not a substitute for editable screens.
What “PSD UI kit” does—and does not—promise
A PSD UI kit is a layered Photoshop document containing some combination of screens, controls, icons and layout elements. An app concept usually contains only a few screens intended to communicate visual direction. A mockup presents a design inside a device image. A prototype is interactive; the 2015 roundup does not establish that these downloads are interactive prototypes. A wireframe is low fidelity, while most entries appear to be visual UI work rather than bare structural wireframes.

They should not be used as current iOS implementation guidance: device dimensions, typography, navigation patterns, accessibility expectations and platform components have changed substantially since 2013–2015.
How to inspect and edit an old PSD safely
- Obtain the archive from the creator or a reputable host. The roundup’s links are more than 11 years old; do not call a resource available until the actual file can be downloaded.
- Scan the archive and extract it. Do not open files directly inside a ZIP, and avoid executable files in a design download.
- Check the extension. A
.PSDis generally a Photoshop source file;.JPGor.PNGis usually a flattened preview. - Work on a copy. Record the source URL, download date and license before changing the file.
- Inspect dimensions and resolution. Note fixed iPhone or iOS 7 canvases and any color-profile warning.
- Review the Layers panel. Look for named groups, editable text, Smart Objects and vector shapes. Flattened pixels are reference material, not reusable controls.
- Resolve missing fonts legally. Use the font name in Photoshop’s warning, obtain it from a legitimate source or substitute a licensed equivalent; expect line breaks and spacing to change.
- Relink Smart Objects. Missing linked files can make a screen appear broken even when the PSD itself opens.
- Replace sample content and test every screen. Check the intended device size, states and export quality before handoff.
- Confirm rights before exporting or shipping. Fonts, photos, icons, logos and music artwork can have terms separate from the PSD.
If the normal path fails
- Dead link: search the original creator or a reputable mirror, and check the Internet Archive. If only a preview survives, label it inspiration only.
- Damaged or incompatible file: re-download and fully extract it; try another PSD-capable editor. Do not claim current Photoshop compatibility without testing.
- Flattened layers: use the file as a visual reference or mockup, not as an editable kit.
- Unclear license: assume only rights explicitly granted. Free download does not imply commercial use, redistribution or inclusion in a paid template.
Photoshop requirements and modern alternatives
Photoshop is the direct choice when you must preserve legacy PSD layers, raster effects or Smart Objects. Adobe’s U.S. pricing observed in August 2026 lists Photoshop at US$22.99 per month on an annual plan billed monthly, with a 7-day trial; the Photography plan is listed at US$19.99 per month. Creative Cloud Pro is listed at US$69.99 per month, with a promotional first-three-month price of US$34.99 for eligible new subscribers. Prices, taxes, eligibility and promotions can change; check Adobe’s Photoshop plans and Creative Cloud plans.
Adobe says Photoshop is available on desktop, web and mobile, with free mobile access and premium features through subscription on its product page. Complex layered PSD editing is generally better suited to desktop Photoshop than a mobile screen.

Do not assume an old PSD will migrate perfectly to any modern tool. Preserve the original, export only what you have rights to use and rebuild components when interaction, responsive behavior or team collaboration matters.
License and safety checklist
- Verify the creator’s license on the download page, not just the word “free” in a headline.
- Check commercial use, attribution, modification and redistribution clauses.
- Review fonts, photographs, icons, logos and artist artwork separately.
- Download archives from trustworthy sources and scan them before extraction.
- Never redistribute a PSD in a new bundle without explicit redistribution rights.
- For client work, save the source URL, license text and date checked with the project files.
Use this collection when its age is an advantage—such as studying historical mobile UI or editing a client’s existing PSD—not when you need current platform guidance, tested usability or a complete developer handoff.
