The best add-on smartphone lens is the one that gives your phone a perspective or close-up ability its built-in cameras cannot. For most photographers, the strongest choices are the Moment Tele 58mm II for portraits and street details, the Wide 16mm II for interiors and landscapes, and the Macro 75mm II for close-ups. The SuperTele 240mm II and Fisheye 8mm II are more specialized.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

These lenses are not automatic sharpness upgrades: external glass can add flare, softness or color fringing, and a phone’s native camera may already do a better job at a similar framing. Buy for a different image, not just a bigger focal-length number. The recommendations below reflect Moment’s lineup and price listings around August 16–18, 2026; prices and availability can change.

#1 Best Overall

  • ✔ CLARUS 15x MACRO LENS - MARVEL YOUR SENSES. MAGNIFY NEARBY SUBJECTS FOR BREATHTAKING, SUPER CLOSE-UP PHOTOS: Capture all the intricacies and details with precision-focus for razor crisp macro photos every time. (For best results, position macro lens approximately 1/2 inch from subject. Not designed for zooming in on distant subjects.) • ✔ GLOWCLIP RECHARGEABLE LED FILL LIGHT - The GlowClip LED light clips ANYWHERE on your phone to instantly illuminate your subject and surroundings with warm continuous light. • ✔ QUICK-RELEASE LANYARD AND TRAVEL CASE - TRANSPORT AND PROTECT YOUR LENS KIT: Perfect for taking your Xenvo lenses with you on the fly. Compare the five picks

Lens Best for Price seen Main benefit Main drawback
Moment Tele 58mm II Portraits, street details, travel About $150 Tighter, more natural framing than a phone’s main camera May duplicate a native telephoto camera
Moment Wide 16mm II / 18mm Landscapes, interiors, architecture About $150; promotional listings around $125 An intermediate-wide view with less edge stretching than many ultra-wide views May add little if the phone’s ultra-wide is already good
Moment Macro 75mm II Flowers, food, products, textures About $150 Close-up detail with more working distance than a very short macro lens Shallow focus makes steady positioning important
Moment SuperTele 240mm II Wildlife, sports, distant subjects About $150 Substantial added reach on a compatible phone camera Restrictive compatibility; magnifies shake and haze
Moment Fisheye 8mm II / 14mm Experimental perspective, action, architecture About $150 for 8mm II; older 14mm version around $125 on promotion Pronounced curved, immersive rendering Distortion is unsuitable for natural-looking images

Prices are signals from Moment’s US-oriented pages around August 16–18, 2026, not guaranteed current prices; promotions, region, selection and stock can change. See Moment’s Mobile II collection and broader lens catalog for current listings.

Check your phone and mount before buying

An add-on lens has to sit over the intended phone camera, centered precisely. Most external lenses are designed for the main 1x camera, not necessarily the phone’s built-in telephoto camera. A case opening, camera protector or mount that shifts the lens off-center can create black corners, uneven sharpness or a visible rim.

  1. Confirm the exact phone model. Camera spacing, sensor size, lens protrusion and case dimensions can change between generations.
  2. Check the lens series and mounting system. Moment’s T-Series lenses use a compatible case/drop-in mount or T-Series universal mount; do not assume an M-Series mount fits. The universal mount is listed at $40 on Moment’s current collection page.
  3. Verify the selected camera position. Read that specific lens’s compatibility information and confirm the mount aligns with the camera you intend to use. Moment’s Tele 58mm page lists T-Series compatibility for iPhone 14–17 models, Pixel 7/8/9 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro series, and newer Galaxy devices, with mounting options varying by phone. That chart does not establish compatibility for every Moment lens.
  4. Budget for the whole setup. The lens may not be the only cost: a compatible case or mount, app, caps, cleaning supplies, or a support grip may also be needed. Moment lists a 67mm filter mount at $35; the exact accessories required depend on the setup.
  5. Check the return terms, then test alignment. If permitted before removing protective packaging, mount the lens and inspect the frame corners for dark borders and uneven focus.

A phone may switch cameras automatically when you change framing or focus close to a subject. If the lens is mounted over the main camera but the phone selects another, framing can shift or the add-on may appear ineffective. Moment recommends its Pro Camera app for locking to the main camera; its Tele 58mm page showed the app at $9.99 around August 16–18, 2026. Native-app controls and automatic macro options vary by phone, so check the settings available on yours.

1. Moment Tele 58mm II: best for portraits and street details

The Tele 58mm narrows the view compared with the main camera, helping simplify busy scenes and frame portraits, signs, food or architectural details without moving as close to the subject. Moment positions this focal length for portraits, details and storytelling images. It can make framing feel less wide-angle, but it does not produce the same depth of field as a large-camera telephoto lens.

Choose it if

  • You often photograph people, travel details, street scenes or tabletop subjects.
  • You want a tighter composition but your phone lacks a useful native telephoto view for that work.

Skip it if

  • Your phone’s native 2x, 3x or 5x camera already gives you the framing and quality you want.
  • You need serious reach for wildlife or sports; this is not a long-range lens.

Use it over the camera specified by the product’s compatibility guidance, usually the main camera. Keep an eye on automatic camera switching and compare the result with your phone’s native telephoto framing before deciding the add-on is an improvement. Independent testing found that external telephoto lenses should not be assumed to beat a phone’s own camera for sharpness; see Tom’s Guide’s comparison.

2. Moment Wide 16mm II / 18mm: best for landscapes and interiors

A wide add-on offers a view between the phone’s main and ultra-wide cameras, bringing more of a room, street or landscape into the frame without the exaggerated edge stretching common to many ultra-wide views. Moment describes the 18mm for landscapes, interiors, street photography, architecture and environmental portraits, and presents the 16mm II as a redesigned 2026 option for newer, higher-resolution phone cameras. They are different generations, not interchangeable names for the same lens.

  • 【BEST GIFT CHOICE & 100% SATISFACTION】Phone lens kit that will provide you an extraordinary experience to capture wonderful moment. With well packing and good price, it would be a very nice gift choice

Choose it if

  • You photograph interiors or architecture where stepping back is impossible.
  • You want a broad scene that includes a person or foreground subject without relying on the phone’s most extreme ultra-wide view.

Skip it if

  • Your native ultra-wide already gives you the field of view and image quality you need.
  • You prefer simple compositions: a wider frame includes more edges, empty space and potential distractions.

Close foreground objects can still look exaggerated. Keep faces and important straight lines away from the extreme edges, and check the frame edges before taking the shot. Current Moment listings showed the 16mm II and 18mm variants around $150, with promotional listings around $125; check the selected version and compatibility on the product page.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

3. Moment Macro 75mm II: best for close-up detail

The Macro 75mm II is for subjects such as flowers, jewelry, food, products and textures. Its longer working distance than a very short macro setup can make it easier to compose without placing the phone right against the subject or casting its shadow across it. Moment says it mounts over the main camera and is designed to offer a more natural working distance.

Choose it if

  • You regularly make close-up product, food, plant or detail images.
  • You want macro framing that differs from the phone’s standard close-focus mode.

Skip it if

  • You mainly shoot ordinary portraits, landscapes or snapshots.
  • You do not want to manage very shallow focus or stabilize the phone and subject.

At macro distances, only a narrow zone may be sharp. Move the phone slowly, stabilize both subject and camera, use soft side lighting and consider manual focus or focus peaking if your camera app offers it. Clean the lens carefully: dust and fingerprints are conspicuous in close-up images. Tom’s Guide found a Moment macro lens produced a more distinctive result than the phone’s native macro mode in its test, though that finding is not a guarantee for every phone and setup (test details). Moment listed the Macro 75mm II around $150; confirm compatibility and the current price on its product page.

4. Moment SuperTele 240mm II: best for distant subjects

The SuperTele 240mm II is the specialist option for wildlife, sports, aviation, performances and distant travel details. Moment describes it as its longest-reaching smartphone lens and designed the Mobile II range for newer, larger phone sensors and higher-resolution cameras. Its focal-length label alone does not make it a universal zoom attachment: the phone camera and mount must be compatible with the combination.

Choose it if

  • You have a compatible phone with the required telephoto/periscope camera, as confirmed by Moment’s product documentation.
  • You can support the phone steadily and accept a slower, more deliberate shooting setup.

Skip it if

  • Your phone does not meet the compatibility requirements.
  • You expect reliable handheld detail in dim light or on fast-moving subjects without managing camera shake.

At this reach, hand movement, subject motion and atmospheric haze are magnified. Use a tripod or solid support where possible, start with large high-contrast subjects, and avoid shooting through windows or heat shimmer. Burst mode can help with moving subjects, but it cannot restore detail lost to haze. Moment’s collection listed the lens around $150; verify current compatibility and availability on the SuperTele product page.

5. Moment Fisheye 8mm II / 14mm: best for creative perspective

A fisheye is intentionally distorted: it bends lines and makes close subjects feel exaggerated and the scene immersive. That can be effective for action, pets, skateboarding, cycling, small rooms and experimental architecture, but it is not a natural-looking portrait lens. Moment’s current Mobile II collection lists the Fisheye 8mm II; its broader catalog also lists a 14mm version. Choose between them by the degree of distortion you want and the exact phone/mount compatibility.

Choose it if

  • You want an unmistakably unusual look rather than a faithful view.
  • You photograph movement, graphic shapes or scenes where curved lines are part of the composition.

Skip it if

  • You need straight architectural lines or natural proportions near the edges.
  • You want one versatile first lens for everyday photography.

Move close to a deliberate foreground subject, and check the edges for distracting objects or unwanted bending. Moment listed the 8mm II around $150 and the older 14mm around $125 during promotion; those are volatile listings, not guaranteed prices. See the Mobile II collection and broader lens catalog.

When an anamorphic lens makes more sense

If you mostly shoot video, consider the Moment Anamorphic 1.33x II instead of a still-photo specialist. Anamorphic optics create a squeezed widescreen image that must be de-squeezed in a compatible camera app or in editing; they can also add characteristic horizontal flares. The workflow is video-first, so it is not a general-purpose still-photo upgrade. Moment listed the 1.33x II at about $150 and the 1.55x version at about $199 around August 16–18, 2026. For context on smartphone anamorphic use, see Digital Camera World’s guide.

Get better results from an add-on lens

  • Clean both the phone camera and external lens before mounting.
  • Center the attachment over the intended camera and use the camera the lens was designed for.
  • Check for black corners, a visible rim, uneven sharpness and flare in a test frame.
  • Take test shots at several distances; close focus and framing can behave differently than expected.
  • For telephoto subjects, step back rather than crowding the subject, keep the phone steady and use a fast shutter speed for motion where possible.
  • For macro, move slowly into focus, stabilize the subject and use soft side light rather than direct flash.
  • For wide views, keep important faces and straight lines away from the extreme edges and watch for unwanted objects at the margins.
  • For SuperTele, use support when practical and avoid distant subjects obscured by heat shimmer or atmospheric haze.
  • Change your angle to manage flare from the sun or strong lights, and remove the external lens when it is not needed to limit dust and awkward handling.

Other options and older lenses

Moment also sells a Macro 10x for people seeking extreme magnification and abstract detail; the 75mm II is the more practical choice when working distance and composition matter. Sandmarc is another lens ecosystem to consider if its models or phone-specific mounts suit your setup. Tom’s Guide listed Sandmarc’s 58mm 2x telephoto at $159 and 25mm macro at $129 at the time of its review; prices and compatibility may have changed (review; Sandmarc).

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Older Moment M-Series lenses may be worth considering for a compatible older phone, but do not assume a discounted older lens or mount will fit a newer device. Moment’s sale page lists older products and promotions; check that both lens and mount suit your exact model before buying.

Which smartphone lens should you buy?

  • Portraits and street details: Tele 58mm II, unless your native telephoto already covers the job.
  • Travel, architecture and interiors: Wide 16mm II or 18mm, if your phone’s ultra-wide is not enough.
  • Small subjects and textures: Macro 75mm II.
  • Wildlife or sports: SuperTele 240mm II only after confirming phone and mount compatibility.
  • Creative distortion: Fisheye 8mm II or 14mm.
  • Video with a widescreen cinematic look: Anamorphic 1.33x II.

If your phone already has strong native cameras, prioritize a lens that creates a genuinely different image—especially macro or fisheye—rather than duplicating a focal length you already use well.
