Martha Stewart’s “Top 50 Printable Clip Art” was a real 2010 web roundup—but it is not currently available as a verified, intact 50-piece download. The original Martha Stewart gallery linked by Make: now returns a 404, so no reliable modern source can reproduce the complete list item by item.
What remains is a useful trail of official Martha Stewart projects showing how the collection was meant to be used: as printable artwork for cards, tags, gift packaging, seasonal decorations, egg decals, costumes, and découpage. For current projects, use surviving individual templates and clip-art pages rather than downloading an unofficial “Top 50” archive.

On September 5, 2010, Make: highlighted a Martha Stewart roundup described as the site’s 50 best clip-art resources. The item was also attributed to Curbly and mentioned projects including doily tins and miniature gift bags.

The gallery URL linked from the 2010 reference is no longer live. Current Martha Stewart pages preserve related projects and individual printable assets, but they do not establish that the original 50-item sequence still exists in its original form. What you can still make with the surviving resources
The surviving projects reveal the practical scope of the old collection. These were not primarily clip-art files intended to remain on a screen. They were decorative illustrations and templates designed to be printed, cut, folded, transferred, glued, or applied to another surface.
Cards, invitations, borders, and stationery

Use ordinary paper for a quick test fold. For a finished package, choose paper with enough body to hold a crease without tearing. A template designed for lightweight paper may not fold correctly when printed on heavy board, so check the project instructions before substituting materials.
Seasonal decorations
Seasonal clip art appears throughout the surviving Martha Stewart ecosystem. Easter resources include basket tags, garlands, boxes, invitations, labels, and other cut-paper decorations. Mother’s Day projects include cards, borders, floral motifs, lemons, and a sleep-mask design. Valentine’s Day projects use printed artwork in cones, flowers, and other decorative forms.

Halloween pumpkin designs and découpage
Halloween templates provide some of the clearest examples of printable art being applied to a three-dimensional surface. The surviving pumpkin resources include cats, mice, flowers, sunbursts, and birds. The instructions call for printing the templates on plain white uncoated paper, cutting out the designs, and applying them with découpage medium.
This is a practical approach when carving is undesirable or when you want a painted pumpkin with a collage-like surface. Print the design, cut carefully around the edges, position it on the pumpkin, and use the recommended medium to adhere and seal it. Curved surfaces may create wrinkles, especially with larger pieces; smaller motifs are generally easier to position cleanly.

A project-specific supply worth considering is découpage medium. It is relevant here because the official pumpkin workflow identifies découpage medium as the adhesive and finishing medium—not because every printable project requires it.
Easter egg decals
One official Easter guide demonstrates a more specialized process: printing clip art onto clear decal paper with an inkjet printer, cutting around the design, soaking it, sliding the image onto an egg, and sealing it with varnish.
This method is different from ordinary paper découpage. The decal must be printed on the correct side of the material, and the printer and paper need to be compatible. Follow the instructions supplied with the decal paper as well as the project directions. Test one design first; colors, fine lines, and transparent areas can look different once transferred to a curved, colored egg.
For this particular project, clear inkjet decal paper is the relevant supply. It should not be substituted casually with ordinary printer paper. The surviving official rights language also matters: at least one Martha Stewart PDF states that the clip art is for personal use only and not for commercial use.
Costume and wearable pieces
The official Motha costume project uses printable wing clip art printed on heavyweight matte paper. The wings are cut with small scissors and attached with eyelash adhesive. This illustrates why paper weight and cutting accuracy matter: a costume component needs to be more substantial than a standard office printout, but still light enough to wear comfortably.

Print a test at ordinary size before committing to heavyweight paper. Check the fit, symmetry, and attachment point, then make the final version. Small scissors are particularly helpful around narrow curves and pointed wing shapes.
A practical workflow for using related printable art today
- Start with a live, official project page. Choose a surviving Martha Stewart template or clip-art resource. Do not assume that a modern page reproduces one of the original 50 entries.
- Read the project instructions before printing. Identify the intended paper, transfer material, adhesive, and finishing product. The requirements differ between a card, pumpkin decoration, costume wing, and egg decal.
