Verdict: The Procolored F13 Panda is a compact, 13-inch DTF printer aimed at small-batch apparel work, sampling, and businesses moving transfer production in-house. Its single Epson L1800 printhead and manufacturer-rated six A4/Letter prints per hour keep the entry price below Procolored’s faster F13 Pro, but also limit throughput. The bigger buying considerations are the Windows-only RIP, routine white-ink and printhead care, and the extra equipment needed to turn film into finished garments. Procolored’s published specifications are useful for comparison; the available evidence does not independently establish print quality, reliability, or wash durability.

What the F13 Panda does

The F13 Panda is a direct-to-film (DTF) printer: it prints an image onto PET film, including a white-ink layer used to transfer the design onto fabric. The printer is one part of a larger workflow:

  1. Prepare artwork in a design application.
  2. Arrange and process it in the printer’s RIP software.
  3. Print color and white ink onto PET film.
  4. Apply hot-melt adhesive powder to the printed film.
  5. Cure the powder with an oven or other suitable curing setup.
  6. Heat-press the transfer onto a garment or other compatible item, then peel and repress if the materials’ instructions call for it.

The printer does not, by itself, produce a finished shirt. A curing method and heat press are also needed. DTF can be used to make transfers for a range of fabrics, but that is not proof that every combination of ink, film, powder, fabric, and press settings will deliver the same durability. Wash performance needs to be assessed with the specific materials and process.

Procolored describes the F13 as a roll-fed, 13-inch system using a single Epson L1800 printhead and CMYK plus white ink. Its product listing also mentions A3/A4 sheet-film support. Because the listing describes both roll and sheet use, confirm the supported feed modes and included hardware for the exact configuration you intend to buy.

Specifications and what they mean

Listed specification F13 Panda Practical meaning
Printhead Single Epson L1800 A simpler, lower-cost configuration than a dual-head machine, but a single point of failure and no head-based production redundancy.
Ink CMYK + white White ink is central to transfers on dark garments and adds a maintenance consideration.
Maximum listed resolution 1440 × 1440 dpi, 8-pass mode A print-mode specification, not a guarantee of perceived detail, color accuracy, or garment quality.
Print width 13 in / 330 mm Suitable for many standard garment designs, but narrower than 24-inch production systems. Margins and film handling reduce usable image area.
Rated A4/Letter speed About 10 minutes; about 6 prints per hour Manufacturer figures for printer output, not a promise of six completed and pressed garments every hour.
Listed ink use About 3.75 ml per A4/Letter print A manufacturer estimate; actual use depends on artwork, coverage, white-ink settings, and print mode.
Computer and RIP Pro RIP; Windows only; 8 GB RAM and 50 GB free on C: drive listed as minimums Check the computer and connection requirements before buying, especially if your work is Mac-based.
Printer size and weight 33 × 15 × 11.8 in; 44 lb Allow room for the printer, film roll, access for service, and separate curing and pressing equipment.

These figures come from the manufacturer’s listing. They are specifications and claims, not independent test results. In particular, 1440 × 1440 dpi should not be read as a direct measure of finished-shirt quality.

Width, film, and the work it suits

A 13-inch print width can accommodate many shirt fronts and backs, sleeves, tote bags, and smaller-format designs. It is less suited to wide graphics or large gang sheets intended to maximize the number of designs produced in one run. Roll feeding can be convenient for continuous jobs, while sheet-film support may suit particular layouts; the available product description does not establish that every feed mode is included or equally straightforward on every version.

The listing gives a maximum single-job length of 31 inches in its FAQ. That is a job-length limit, not a statement that every longer roll workflow or layout is supported. Check the current manual and configuration details before planning production around long transfers.

Speed: printer output is only one stage

Procolored rates the F13 at roughly 10 minutes for an A4/Letter print, six such prints per hour, and about four square feet per hour. Those are advertised figures, not independently verified production results. A completed garment takes longer: artwork preparation and RIP processing, film loading, powdering, curing, heat pressing, garment handling, and occasional nozzle checks or reprints all consume time.

For a one-person shop, the bottleneck may be the operator or curing and pressing steps rather than the printhead. Before buying, time your actual workflow with the design sizes and order mix you expect. If orders are time-sensitive or routinely exceed a few small runs, the single-head F13’s rated output may be restrictive even if the printer’s advertised rate appears adequate.

Print quality: what can and cannot be concluded

The single L1800 head, CMYK-plus-white configuration, and 8-pass maximum mode describe the hardware and an available print mode. They do not establish how the F13 renders fine text, gradients, skin tones, solid fills, or white underbases on a finished garment. The available evidence does not include independent color measurements, controlled artwork comparisons, or wash testing, so claims of professional or industrial-grade output should be treated as marketing rather than verified performance.

For a business purchase, request or make samples using the artwork and garment types you actually plan to sell. Check small lettering and edges, opacity on dark fabric, color consistency across repeat jobs, feel and stretch, and the result after laundering according to the transfer materials’ care instructions. Keep track of film, ink settings, powder, curing, and press conditions; a poor transfer can originate at any of those stages, not just in the printer.

Setup and software compatibility

Procolored says the printer is shipped preassembled, with the stand, printhead, and ink system assembled before repackaging. That may reduce mechanical setup, but it does not establish that first use is plug-and-play. A buyer still needs to install the driver and Pro RIP, connect the supplied USB dongle if required by the package, load film, confirm ink circulation, run a nozzle check, and learn the print-to-cure-to-press workflow. The listing gives a typical delivery estimate of three to seven business days, but timing, shipping origin, taxes, and delivery conditions vary by destination.

The Pro RIP is listed for Windows only. Procolored suggests Windows through virtualization or dual boot for Mac users, but that adds compatibility and troubleshooting variables; ordinary Mac design software does not replace the RIP. Design artwork in an application such as Photoshop or Canva, then use the RIP to arrange and process the print job. If you rely on a Mac, verify the RIP, Windows version, USB connection, and dongle in your intended setup before placing an order.

Plan the workspace as carefully as the computer. The printer, curing oven, powder, and heat press need room to operate and be cleaned safely. Powder handling and curing produce dust, heat, and odors; follow the equipment and material safety instructions and arrange appropriate ventilation. Do not treat a small oven’s listed temperature range as proof that it will cure every powder evenly.

Oven bundles and what is included

The Panda oven is listed with a 13 × 16.5-inch (330 × 420 mm) working area and a stated temperature range of 0–130°C (32–266°F). A separate premium smokeless oven is listed with a range up to 140°C. Temperature range alone does not demonstrate uniformity, adequate curing, or effective smoke and odor control; those depend on equipment performance, powder, film, ink load, dwell time, and operating conditions.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

According to the product listing, the oven bundle includes the printer, oven, initial CMYKW ink (five 250 ml bottles), 500 g of adhesive powder, 100 m of 13-inch PET film, Pro RIP software, a dongle, cables, and maintenance accessories. Check the precise contents of the variant you select. Do not assume a heat press is included: the printer-plus-oven package and heat-press bundles are separate configurations. If you already own suitable curing and pressing equipment, the printer-only option may be more economical; otherwise, compare the full startup cost, not just the printer price.

Maintenance is part of the cost

White ink is important to DTF transfers and requires attention. The F13 listing promotes white-ink circulation, a printhead moisturizing device, nozzle-protection fluid, and automatic printhead cleaning every 10 hours while the printer remains powered on. It estimates that automatic cleaning uses about 1 ml of ink per day. These features may help manage ink flow, but they do not make the printer maintenance-free.

Expect to follow the current manual’s directions for circulation, nozzle checks, capping or parking, cleaning, and waste-ink management. Keep powder and dust away from the printer and film path. Procolored’s FAQ says weekly maintenance takes only a few minutes; treat that as the manufacturer’s estimate, not a guaranteed time or a substitute for the manual. The same listing recommends leaving the printer powered on for automatic cleaning when away and mentions moisture-retaining cartridges for vacations. Because the right procedure depends on the machine’s current instructions and warranty, confirm the approved idle and shutdown procedure before leaving it unused for an extended period.

Procolored also advertises an upgraded roller feeder intended to reduce film-feeding problems. That is a design claim, not failure-rate data. Film tension, alignment, dust, and job length still matter; test the feed with the materials and roll lengths you expect to use.

Price and realistic ownership cost

On August 18, 2026, Procolored displayed the F13 with Panda oven at $2,799, reduced from a shown $3,499, and the printer-only configuration at $2,399. The collection page also displayed higher-priced heat-press and smokeless-oven bundles. These are observed promotional prices, not guaranteed current prices; check the current F13 collection for the exact variant, bundle contents, shipping, taxes, and availability.

Procolored estimates about $1.80 in printing cost for a 13 × 16-inch adult-shirt print. Its calculator examples include ink, film, and powder costs, but those are promotional estimates rather than a complete cost model. Your costs will vary with coverage, settings, waste, supplier prices, and local shipping. Add the printer’s purchase price and depreciation, curing oven, heat press, electricity, cleaning supplies, failed prints, labor, packaging, payment or marketplace fees, taxes, and any replacement parts or printhead service.

A useful break-even calculation is:

Monthly contribution per transfer = selling price − blank garment − film, ink, and powder − packaging and selling fees − expected waste and reprints.

Break-even transfers = equipment and setup cost ÷ monthly contribution per transfer.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Then account for labor and downtime: if transfers take too long to produce, or maintenance interrupts order fulfillment, the apparent margin may not translate into profit. Procolored’s daily-profit calculator assumes a five-hour workday, six prints per hour, a $21.90 retail price, and 15% average waste among other inputs. Those assumptions are not a forecast of typical customer earnings. For occasional orders or a shop still validating demand, compare the cost and lead time of outsourced transfers before committing capital to a printer.

F13 versus F13 Pro

F13 Panda F13 Pro
Printheads Single L1800 Dual XP600
Manufacturer-rated A4/Letter time About 10 minutes About 4.5 minutes
Manufacturer-rated output About 6 prints per hour About 13 prints per hour

Listed weight 44 lb / 20 kg 86 lb / 39 kg
Trade-off Lower entry price, slower output, single-head dependence Higher capacity and substantially higher capital cost

These are manufacturer specifications, not independently verified comparative results. On August 18, 2026, the F13 Pro configuration with stand and shaker oven was displayed at approximately $6,599. Check the F13 Pro listing for current price and configuration. The Pro is not automatically the better purchase: it makes sense only if recurring demand and the value of faster output justify the higher cost. If your volume is unproven, outsourcing transfers or starting with the less expensive setup may carry less risk.

Warranty and support: verify before ordering

Procolored provides a warranty policy and support information. The product page has also displayed a promotional one-year printhead warranty with a stated end date of June 30; that date has passed, so do not assume the promotion remains available or that printhead coverage is the same as coverage for the printer body.

Before purchase, confirm the current warranty duration and exclusions in writing, especially how it treats clogged or damaged printheads, consumables, labor, shipping, and replacement parts. Ask who pays return shipping and whether the terms differ in your country. First-party review totals or a general promise of engineering support do not establish independently verified service quality or response times.

Who should buy the F13 Panda?

  • Small apparel business or maker: Consider it if a 13-inch workflow and roughly six A4/Letter prints per hour meet your actual demand, and you are prepared for Windows-based RIP work and regular maintenance.
  • Hobbyist or occasional seller: Compare outsourcing transfers first. Low order volume may not justify the equipment, setup, consumables, and care.
  • Local shop or team printer: It may suit small batches and samples, but plan for bottlenecks and downtime. If a missed deadline is costly, ask whether a single-head machine provides enough capacity and redundancy.
  • Mac-only operator: Reconsider unless you are comfortable setting up and supporting a Windows environment and have confirmed the RIP and USB connection work as needed.
  • High-volume producer: The F13 is likely to be limiting. Compare faster equipment, including the F13 Pro, against your measured order volume and total cost.
  • Buyer without a curing and pressing setup: Compare a complete bundle carefully, but verify whether it includes a heat press and whether the included oven suits your materials and workflow.

Overall: The F13 Panda is most compelling as a lower-entry, small-batch DTF system for a Windows-equipped operator who accepts hands-on upkeep. Its headline speed and resolution do not establish finished-garment throughput or quality, and its low sticker price is not the complete cost of producing transfers. Buy only after confirming the bundle, software fit, warranty terms, workspace, and the volume you can realistically sell.
