Samsung’s 2025 The Frame Pro was designed to make its art-focused TV a more convincing everyday screen. It adds a Neo QLED-branded 4K display, a Wireless One Connect Box and support for up to 144Hz, while keeping Art Mode and the frame-like look. That is a meaningful step up from the standard Frame for people who want both décor and television performance—but it does not make the Pro the best-value movie or gaming TV at its price.
There is an important distinction between the CES 2025 announcement and a buying decision today: Samsung launched the 2025 model in April 2025, and RTINGS identifies a 2026 generation as its replacement. In the US, the 2025 Pro is now a remaining-stock, clearance or resale option, rather than Samsung’s newest Frame Pro.
What Samsung announced at CES 2025
The Frame Pro was presented as a premium tier above Samsung’s regular Frame. The aim was to address a familiar trade-off: The Frame works as décor when it is off, but its conventional-TV performance had been a weaker reason to buy it. Samsung added a brighter, more performance-oriented display platform and a wireless connection system without abandoning Art Mode, the matte art-focused screen treatment or customizable bezels. Samsung markets the Pro as a Neo QLED 4K TV with Mini LED technology. Its US product information lists a 120Hz panel with support for up to 144Hz. The higher ceiling is most relevant to a compatible PC; PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X users generally target up to 4K at 120Hz. A refresh-rate maximum describes how often the screen can update, not how quickly it responds to a controller input.

Wireless One Connect
The external One Connect Box carries HDMI sources and other connections, and the Pro’s wireless link lets it communicate with the display without a long signal cable running between the box and TV. Samsung says the system can transmit from up to 30 feet in suitable conditions. The screen still needs a power connection, so wireless does not mean cable-free. Art Mode and the art experience
The Pro retains Art Mode, Samsung Art Store access, a matte screen and customizable bezels. Samsung also promoted Vision AI and Pantone-validated art color reproduction. Those are manufacturer features and claims, not a guarantee that artwork will look identical to a print or a professionally calibrated gallery display: room lighting, reflections, brightness, viewing angle and the screen itself all shape the result. Access to the full Art Store collection requires a subscription; Samsung does not establish a current subscription price in the cited material. Samsung Art Store subscription information
The Frame Pro versus the standard Frame
For the 2025 US lineup, the Pro and standard Frame shared the central art-TV idea, but targeted different buyers. The standard model was offered from 43 to 65 inches; the Pro came in 65, 75 and 85 inches. This is a US-market comparison, not a guarantee of size availability in other countries. | Feature | 2025 The Frame | 2025 The Frame Pro |

| Positioning | Art-focused television with a lower-cost entry and more size choices | Art-focused television intended to provide stronger everyday TV performance and cleaner source-device placement |

| Maximum refresh rate | Up to 144Hz on the 2025 models, according to Samsung’s lineup materials | Up to 144Hz; US product information also lists a 120Hz panel |
| Main appeal | Art Mode and frame styling across smaller sizes | Art Mode and frame styling with more ambitious TV specifications and flexible box placement |
| Main consideration | Less compelling as a premium movie or gaming TV | Price premium, limits to local dimming, and potential wireless latency |
The Pro is the more capable proposition on paper, but a buyer who mostly displays art and watches ordinary streaming may not benefit enough to justify paying more. Conversely, someone who wants a Frame in a 75- or 85-inch size has no standard 2025 Frame of the same size to choose instead.
How much better is the picture?
Independent testing regards the 2025 Pro as a more capable conventional TV than the standard Frame in some respects. The Neo QLED platform can improve brightness, contrast and viewing flexibility, making the Pro more suitable for mixed use—art display, sports, streaming and gaming—than the design-first model it builds on.
Mini LED needs a qualification
Samsung calls the Pro Neo QLED and promotes Mini LED technology. RTINGS characterizes its tested 2025 model’s local dimming as an edge-lit implementation, rather than the dense full-array Mini LED backlight many buyers associate with high-end conventional TVs. The distinction matters: the Mini LED label alone does not establish the number or arrangement of dimming zones or guarantee flagship contrast. RTINGS’ testing of the 2025 Frame Pro

Where it still falls short
The matte surface is useful in a bright room because it reduces distracting reflections, but it can affect perceived sharpness and black-level performance. In a dark room, OLED remains the stronger choice for deep blacks and cinematic contrast. The Frame Pro’s local-dimming implementation also does not place it alongside the best full-array Mini LED sets for HDR performance. It is a substantial upgrade over the regular Frame as an all-purpose TV, not a transformation into a no-compromise flagship.
Judge its Art Mode and movie performance separately. The matte, décor-oriented presentation may suit a living room in daylight, while a movie enthusiast watching in a dark room is likely to prioritize contrast and image fidelity over the frame styling.
Does Wireless One Connect make installation easier?
It can. The box can sit in a cabinet or elsewhere in the room, keeping HDMI devices away from the display and reducing visible signal cabling at the feature wall. It is most useful when a console, set-top box or receiver would otherwise require a long cable to the TV. You still need to plan for power at the screen, space and ventilation for the box, and a suitable route for any remaining cables.

- Good fit: a clean wall installation where source devices can sit in nearby furniture and the box-to-TV path is unobstructed.
- Less compelling: equipment already located directly beneath the screen, where a wired connection is straightforward.
- Potential trouble: walls, dense furniture or an enclosed cabinet between the box and display can interfere with the wireless link. Samsung documentation warns that obstructions can affect performance. Samsung Wireless One Connect guidance
The wireless system also adds a box, power supply and connection layer. It is an installation convenience, not an unconditional reliability or latency upgrade. Exact wired fallback support can vary by model and region; consult the manual for the specific set rather than assuming a cable workaround is available.

The Pro supports up to 4K/144Hz, and RTINGS reports compatibility with PS5 features including 4K/120Hz, 1440p/120Hz and HDMI Forum VRR. For console play, 120Hz and VRR are the more relevant capabilities; 144Hz is chiefly useful with a compatible PC. Neither specification tells you the input lag for the connection path you use. What’s actually slowing this PC down?

RTINGS says Wireless One Connect significantly increases input lag. Tom’s Guide’s preliminary hands-on testing also reported lag above 30 milliseconds, but that figure should not be treated as universal: it depends on test conditions and connection mode. For competitive play, test the actual setup and compare wireless with a direct wired path if one is supported. Casual players may be less sensitive to added delay, but the 144Hz headline alone is not a reason to assume the Pro is a low-latency gaming display.

What does it cost, and what should you count beyond the TV?
Samsung’s US launch pricing was approximately $2,199.99 for 65 inches, $3,199.99 for 75 inches and $4,299.99 for 85 inches. These are launch-price figures for the US model family, not current offers. Do not treat the full Art Store library as a permanent included benefit: access requires a subscription, and the complete collection therefore adds an ongoing ownership cost. Decorative bezels, installation accessories and retailer bundles can also affect the total; verify what is included with the specific package. The cited material does not establish a current Art Store subscription price.
Who should consider the Frame Pro, and who should skip it?
Consider it if
- A TV that resembles framed art when idle is a central requirement, not a bonus.
- You want a larger art TV in one of the Pro’s US sizes and expect to use it for movies, sports or games as well as Art Mode.
- A wireless source box solves a real installation problem, and you can place it with a clear, reliable path to the screen.
- You value the matte finish and Samsung’s art ecosystem more than the very best picture quality per dollar.
- You find a substantial clearance discount and are comfortable with its performance trade-offs.
Skip it if
- Your priority is dark-room movie contrast, the strongest HDR performance for the money or the best gaming response.
- You play competitive games and cannot use or verify a low-latency connection path.
- You need a screen smaller than 65 inches in the 2025 Pro range.
- You do not want an ongoing subscription for the complete art collection.
- A standard OLED or a conventional premium Mini LED TV meets your needs without a dedicated frame design.
How it compares with other choices
There is no universal winner because these sets solve different problems. For a buyer who values the television picture first, a premium OLED is generally the stronger movie and dark-room choice. A conventional high-end Mini LED set is worth considering for buyers who want strong brightness and local dimming without paying specifically for the Frame’s physical design.
TCL NXTFRAME and Hisense CanvasTV are competing art-TV concepts that may appeal to shoppers seeking a different price or ecosystem. Compare the exact model, art catalog, screen finish, included accessories and software for the region; the available evidence does not establish current prices or a like-for-like performance ranking for those models. A Samsung OLED or conventional Neo QLED is another alternative: Samsung expanded Art Store availability beyond The Frame family in 2025, though availability depends on model and region. Samsung’s 2025 TV announcement and Art Store expansion
An OLED paired with a decorative frame or gallery-style installation can deliver a stronger conventional picture, but it is not an integrated Frame-style product. The deciding question is whether the built-in art presentation and installation design are worth the premium to you.
Buying a 2025 model in 2026
As of August 2026, RTINGS identifies the 2026 Frame Pro as the replacement for the 2025 model. Treat a 2025 set as remaining stock, clearance or resale, and compare its actual price, warranty and return terms with the newer generation before buying. A discount can make the older Pro compelling for a design-led installation; it does not erase the wireless-latency and local-dimming compromises. RTINGS’ 2025 review and model context
