Uncrop.org currently redirects to Pollo AI’s Uncrop & Expand Image tool. It can extend an image with AI-generated content, which may help when adapting artwork, photos, or painting references to a new aspect ratio. It is free to try, not unlimited-free, and the added area is an AI-generated guess—not a recovery of what was originally outside the frame.
What happens when you visit Uncrop.org?
The domain currently redirects to Pollo AI, a broader AI image and video platform. “Uncrop” is the name of its image-expansion tool, not a separate standalone application. Pollo AI describes the process as outpainting: the service analyzes an image and generates pixels beyond its existing borders, aiming to blend them with the original.
For painters and illustrators, that can be useful for exploring a wider composition, adding room around a subject, or creating space for lettering in a mock-up. It does not extend a physical painting or reveal the artist’s intended composition. It generates a visual continuation that you can use as a reference or revise in an editor.

What “uncropping” does—and does not—do
These operations solve different problems:
- Cropping removes part of an image.
- Resizing changes pixel dimensions; enlarging may reduce apparent sharpness.
- Stretching forces existing pixels into a different shape and can distort the image.
- Upscaling enlarges an image, but does not necessarily add a believable scene around its edges.
- AI outpainting generates new content outside the original borders to make a larger composition.
The tool cannot know with certainty what was beyond the original frame. A generated extension may look plausible, but it is synthetic content—not the missing original photograph or painting.

How to use the Uncrop.org tool
- Visit uncrop.org and follow its redirect to Pollo AI’s Uncrop page.
- Upload a JPG or PNG image. Keep your original file and work from a copy.
- Choose the expansion size or aspect ratio offered by the page.
- Generate the expanded image, then preview the result.
- Download it if it meets your needs; otherwise, try another generation or edit the new area in an image editor.
For more control over the result, begin with a modest expansion rather than doubling the canvas at once. If a subject is close to an edge, extending one direction at a time can make it easier to judge whether the new content fits. Use a clear, high-resolution source when possible.
Inspect the boundary between the original and generated areas, along with faces, hands, text, logos, product labels, straight architectural lines, and repeating patterns. AI can introduce malformed details, duplicated objects, inconsistent lighting, warped perspective, or seams. For paintings, also check whether the generated continuation changes brushwork, palette, texture, or perspective in a way that makes it unsuitable as a reference. If a result is only partly convincing, crop or retouch the generated region rather than treating it as finished artwork.

Is Uncrop.org really free?
Pollo AI says the tool is free to try and uses credits. Once free credits are exhausted, continued use requires a paid plan. That means free access is limited; it is not evidence of unlimited free generations. The tool page does not clearly establish whether every free output is watermark-free, so check the live interface before relying on an output for publication.
The accessible pricing page did not provide stable plan prices in its text, so there is no reliable dollar amount to quote here. Its pricing FAQ says subscription credits do not roll over, while add-on credits do not expire but are nonrefundable. It also says eligible requests for refunds on subscription credits may be made within three days of a first purchase, subject to its requirements; add-on credits are nonrefundable. Check the current pricing and terms before paying, since plan details can change.

Where image expansion is useful—and where it is risky
Outpainting is most useful when the goal is a flexible composition rather than factual recovery. Pollo AI positions its tool for social media, photography, design, advertising, movie posters, and product shots. Typical jobs include changing a portrait to a landscape layout, making a vertical version of a landscape image, creating negative space for a headline, reframing a tightly composed subject, or extending a background around a product.
A painter might use an expansion to test a different canvas ratio or generate a rough reference for what a broader setting could look like. Treat that as a compositional prompt, not as a reliable source for anatomy, perspective, historical detail, or an artist’s original intent.

- Premium Quality, Made Just for You – Your photo is custom printed and hand-stretched after you order. We focus on craftsmanship and quality, not mass production, to create canvas wall art you’ll be proud to display.
- Built on Solid Pine Frames – Each canvas is gallery wrapped over durable North American pine stretcher bars, providing a strong, straight frame that resists warping and sagging over time.
- Vibrant, Long-Lasting Prints – Printed on premium canvas using fade-resistant latex inks for sharp detail, rich color, and long-term durability without cracking or fading.
- Made to Order in the USA – Designed, printed, and carefully packed in our U.S. studio to ensure consistent quality control and safe delivery of your custom canvas artwork.
- Important Upload Tip – After uploading your photo, click “Adjust” to ensure your image covers the entire canvas for the best possible print result.
Do not use generated extensions as if they were recovered evidence. For a person cut off by the frame, the tool may invent clothing or body parts; for a group photo, it may fabricate people. It may also produce convincing-looking but false product text, labels, shadows, or architectural details. If the image must be accurate—for legal, scientific, journalistic, historical, or documentary purposes—find the original image or use conventional editing that does not invent content. The same caution applies to regulated advertising, exact packaging, or work whose creator or client forbids generative modification.
Privacy and commercial considerations
Using the tool involves uploading an image to a cloud service, not processing it only on your own device. Pollo AI’s privacy policy, dated April 30, 2026, says it may collect information such as an email address, usage data, social-media information, and cookies. It says uploaded images may be temporarily stored on its servers for processing and may be shared with trusted third-party rendering providers. The policy names processors including OpenAI, Kuaishou, Google, Runway, MiniMax, and Alibaba, depending on the model or feature. It describes automatic deletion shortly after generation in the contexts covered by the policy; that is not a promise of zero retention in every circumstance. Read the current privacy policy before uploading sensitive material.

If a simple canvas extension is enough, a conventional editor can add blank space around the image without inventing scene content; cloning or manual painting can fill small areas when accuracy and control matter. For a new aspect ratio, choose between that approach and AI outpainting based on whether a plausible invented continuation is acceptable.
