For five distinct Brooklyn Bridge views, head to Brooklyn Bridge Park: Emily Warren Roebling Plaza for the structure from below, Pier 1 Promenade for the bridge with Lower Manhattan, Bridge View Lawn for a wider lawn foreground, Empire Fulton Ferry for an officially noted nighttime view, and Pebble Beach for a low waterfront perspective. They are all in or closely associated with the park, so you can combine them on one walk.
Where can I photograph the Brooklyn Bridge in Brooklyn?
These five locations offer different ways to frame the bridge rather than five versions of the same skyline view. The descriptions below are based on Brooklyn Bridge Park’s location information; they are not guarantees about current sightlines, lighting, or crowds.
| Location | What it offers | Best fit |
|---|---|---|
| Emily Warren Roebling Plaza | A view directly beneath the bridge | Looking up at the bridge’s stonework and structure |
| Pier 1 Promenade | Views of the Brooklyn Bridge and Lower Manhattan | A waterfront frame that includes the city skyline |
| Bridge View Lawn at Pier 1 | The lawn and Pier 1’s bridge-and-Lower-Manhattan outlook | Trying a wider composition with open foreground |
| Empire Fulton Ferry boardwalk | Nighttime views of the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan skyline | An after-dark waterfront photograph |
| Pebble Beach | A waterfront destination near Empire Fulton Ferry | A lower waterside perspective to contrast with the plaza or promenade |
1. Emily Warren Roebling Plaza: photograph the bridge from below
The plaza puts you directly beneath the Brooklyn Bridge, making it the choice for an upward-looking architectural frame. Use it to emphasize the structure overhead rather than to make the Manhattan skyline the main subject. The park also identifies pedestrian-walkway access at Tillary Street and Boerum Place, or by the staircase in the underpass at Washington Street/Cadman Plaza East and Prospect Street.

3. Bridge View Lawn: try a wider foreground
The Bridge View Lawn is at Pier 1, where the park identifies views of the bridge and Lower Manhattan. The lawn gives you an open foreground to work with, making this a useful place to try a broader composition. The park’s description does not establish a particular lens, unobstructed sightline, or crowd level, so treat the exact framing as something to assess when you arrive.

4. Empire Fulton Ferry boardwalk: choose the supported nighttime view
The Empire Fulton Ferry area lies between the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges. Brooklyn Bridge Park specifically describes its boardwalk as offering nighttime views of the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan skyline, making this the clearest choice among these five for an after-dark waterfront photograph.
5. Pebble Beach: change to a low waterfront angle
Pebble Beach is a waterfront destination near Empire Fulton Ferry. It offers a different starting perspective from the promenade or the plaza beneath the bridge: work close to the water and see what the viewpoint gives you on the day. The park says Pebble Beach and Empire Fulton Ferry are a five-minute walk apart, so they are easy to pair. The published location information does not establish a tide, sunset, or exact composition for a photograph.

How to combine the five locations on one walk
All five suggestions are in or directly associated with Brooklyn Bridge Park. A practical sequence is to visit the Pier 1 Promenade and Bridge View Lawn together, continue to Emily Warren Roebling Plaza for the under-bridge view, then explore the Empire Fulton Ferry boardwalk and Pebble Beach. The last two are especially convenient to pair because the park places them a five-minute walk apart. Check a current park map and conditions before setting out; this sequence is a way to group nearby viewpoints, not a promise about closures or walking times between every stop.
Getting to Brooklyn Bridge Park
Brooklyn Bridge Park lists Clark Street, High Street or Jay St–MetroTech, Borough Hall, and York Street among nearby subway stops. The park also lists bus, Citi Bike, and NYC Ferry access, and recommends public transportation because parking is limited. A DUMBO photo stop that shows a different bridge
Washington Street’s famous framed view in DUMBO is of the Manhattan Bridge, not the Brooklyn Bridge. It can be a worthwhile additional stop during the same outing, but label the photograph accurately: the bridge in that well-known street view is Manhattan Bridge.
Photography permits and conditions
Brooklyn Bridge Park says permits are required for commercial or professional photography at Pier 1 and for groups larger than 20. Its published guidance cited here does not resolve every casual-photography case or the rules for every park area. If you are planning a shoot, check the park’s current photography guidance before you go. The available location descriptions also do not establish current crowd levels, a universally best time for light, or temporary closure status; check conditions and choose your timing for the look you want.
