Mandy Moore’s reported bedroom pairs an orange upholstered bed and terracotta bedding with blue accents in its artwork, cushions, carpet and chair. The contrast offers a useful paint-planning idea: let warm, autumnal color lead, then repeat a cooler hue in smaller doses to give the room balance and definition. The room is credited to designer Sarah Sherman Samuel; the palette is a design example, not evidence that bedroom colors improve sleep.
How the orange-and-blue palette works
The Homes & Gardens article, syndicated by Yahoo Lifestyle on October 3, 2026, describes an orange bed and tonal terracotta duvet set against blue details. If you are adapting the room for changing temperatures, a season-appropriate duvet and an extra throw or blanket let you adjust warmth. These choices may help make bedding more comfortable for you, but they do not establish a sleep benefit from the palette itself.
