The ArtyA Son of Sound is a collection of guitar-shaped luxury watches, not a single model with one shared specification. Its electric-guitar silhouette gives the case an unmistakable look, while four tuning-peg-inspired pushers operate the chronograph and adjust the hour and date. ArtyA describes the collection as “off-the-wall, uncompromising, and pure rock.”
What makes the Son of Sound unusual?
The watch’s guitar form is more than a decorative outline. ArtyA says four active pushers, styled to resemble tuning pegs, handle chronograph start and stop, chronograph reset, hour adjustment, and date adjustment. The exact layout and specifications should be checked against the individual reference.
ArtyA’s official Woodrock page associates the collection’s Woodstock movement with Swiss movement maker Concepto and lists an automatic chronograph, but specifications vary across documented Son of Sound models. The collection’s sculptural design and unconventional controls are the common thread.
How do the documented models differ?
These examples show why the reference matters: the case dimensions, materials, complications, and edition status are not uniform across the collection.

Materials, dial work, and the one-off collaboration
The documented versions use a mix of precious metal, coated steel, sapphire, leather, and crafted dial treatments. Woodrock pairs a wood-marquetry dial with hand-stretched gold strings. For the Only Watch 2021 John McLaughlin collaboration, ArtyA credits Geneva workshop Blandenier with the dial and describes 110 hours of hand painting. That figure is ArtyA’s account of the dial work, not an independent production-time assessment.
Edition status also differs: GPHG records Guitar Race as a 99-piece series, while ArtyA describes both the 18K rose-gold watch and the McLaughlin collaboration as unique pieces. A reference’s limited or one-off status should not be inferred from the collection name alone.

How to verify a Son of Sound reference
- Match the model name and reference number, if provided; do not assume specifications apply across the collection.
- Confirm case material, coating, and dimensions. Woodrock is listed at 52 × 50 × 15 mm, while the Guitar Race and McLaughlin pages specify 37 × 49 × 15 mm.
- Check the movement description, power reserve, complications, dial materials, strap, buckle, and water-resistance rating against documentation for that exact watch.
- Ask for documentation supporting any limited-series number or unique-piece claim, and distinguish an original retail listing or auction estimate from a current sale price.
