Malaysian illustrator Daniel Kamarudin recasts ten Marvel characters as dark-fantasy warriors in a fan-art series inspired by Avengers: Age of Ultron. Published by icanbecreative on February 19, 2018, the gallery turns familiar heroes—and Ultron—into figures from a medieval parallel world. These are artistic reinterpretations, not official Marvel designs or canon. View the original gallery at icanbecreative.
Ten Marvel characters, transformed for a medieval fantasy world
The gallery gives each piece a fantasy-style label. The names below reproduce those labels; they are descriptions for the fan-art series, not established Marvel aliases.
-
Iron Man — “The Sorcerer Of Snark”
The title shifts Tony Stark’s familiar wit and technological identity toward the role of a fantasy spellcaster.

Scarlet Witch — “Scarlet Witch as The Mind Bender”
The label foregrounds mental power, recasting Scarlet Witch as a figure of psychological and mystical influence.
How the series translates superheroes into fantasy roles
Rather than placing every character in the same kind of armor, the labels suggest a range of fantasy roles: battle cleric, assassin, arcane archer, sorcerer, and titan. That variety is the central visual idea—each character’s recognizable identity is a springboard for a different medieval-fantasy archetype.

Kamarudin’s ten designs are fan art, but Marvel has its own medieval character in Sir Percy of Scandia. Marvel describes Percy as a 6th-century Black Knight who defends King Arthur and Camelot, wielding enchanted armor and the Ebony Blade. That makes him related context, not a character in this gallery: Marvel’s Sir Percy of Scandia character page.

Fan art, permissions, and submitting artwork to Marvel
The original gallery credits Kamarudin, but publication of an article that displays or discusses an image does not itself grant permission to reproduce it. The Library of Congress says artwork in its Marvel Comics Collection is restricted by copyright and notes that Marvel stipulated the collection’s artwork may not be published without permission. That guidance concerns the Library’s collection; it is not a complete ruling on every use of fan art. Anyone planning to reproduce images should secure appropriate permission and seek qualified rights advice when a legal conclusion matters. Library of Congress: Marvel Comics Collection rights and reproductions.
Marvel’s official “Submission requests” guidance states: “Marvel does not accept or consider any ideas, creative suggestions, artwork, designs, game proposals, scripts, manuscripts, or similar material unless we have specifically requested it from you.” In other words, unsolicited artwork is not an available review route.
