This makes it a positioning aid during construction rather than a documented substitute for stitching or a permanent fabric adhesive. Sewline calls the glue safe for most fabrics, but that is not a guarantee for every fiber, dye, finish, or laundering condition.

Does Sewline fabric glue wash out?
According to Sewline, the colored glue dries clear and is water-soluble; its 2024 catalog says it can be removed by washing. Those are manufacturer claims, not independent test results. The documentation does not establish removal performance on every material or under every wash condition, so follow care requirements for the fabric and test an inconspicuous area if a mark or finish could be a concern.

- International products have separate terms, are sold from abroad and may differ from local products, including fit, age ratings, and language of product, labeling or instructions.
- Extend the glue stick fully.
- Remove the gray base from the used glue stick.
- Take the short cap off the refill and insert the refill into the pen.
- Wind the refill back into the pen body.

Use it when you want to hold fabric layers or a small component in position while sewing and the project suits a water-soluble, temporary positioning aid. The pen format offers an applicator designed for small amounts, but Sewline’s product description does not establish comparative precision or performance against pins, clips, or thread basting.
