“Year of the Dragon Cartoon” does not identify a verified film or TV series by that exact name. One documented cartoon-character example is Hong Kong Disneyland’s Mickey’s Year of the Dragon Celebration, a live performance presented during its 2024 Chinese New Year event—not a standalone animated cartoon.
What “Year of the Dragon Cartoon” refers to
The phrase is ambiguous: it does not point to one confirmed cartoon, franchise, or character. If you encountered it as a search phrase, it may mean a cartoon-style depiction of a zodiac dragon, a dragon-themed character, or a particular event.

Why the dragon is associated with the year
The dragon is one of the 12 animals associated with the Chinese zodiac calendar. A Beijing Municipal Government / Beijing Magazine article connects the animals with the 12 Earthly Branches, a calendrical system. It also recounts the familiar Jade Emperor animal race as a folk legend—not as established historical fact. The popular story offers one way of explaining the animals’ order; it is distinct from the calendar system itself.
How to use the theme in an illustration or activity
Draw a zodiac dragon
If you want a Year of the Dragon cartoon image, make clear whether you are depicting the zodiac animal or a named fictional dragon. A zodiac-inspired design can use the dragon as its central symbol; a franchise character belongs to a particular story and should not be mistaken for the zodiac itself.

Make a classroom activity
A ThuVienTiengAnh.com worksheet presents a dragon zodiac activity, calls the dragon the fifth animal, and lists 2024 among Dragon years. Its descriptions of “Dragon people,” such as bravery or honesty, are traditional zodiac characterizations, not scientifically established personality findings.
Choose the right kind of dragon item
Hong Kong Disneyland’s 2024 announcement also described Duffy and Friends plushies dressed in dragon outfits, with preorder availability on the resort’s official website beginning January 10, 2024. That is evidence of a historical merchandise announcement, not confirmation of current stock. Separately, a specialist China-Cart listing features dragon mascot costumes and performance props—event equipment rather than a cartoon or ordinary character toy.

Other dragon characters are not titles by this name
A cultural feature from Cathay Pacific mentions the Chinese animated film Princess Iron Fan and Disney’s Mushu as the Dragon represented in Shanghai Disneyland’s Garden of the Twelve Friends. Those are contextual examples of dragon-related animation and character design; they are not evidence of a film or series called “Year of the Dragon Cartoon.”
If you mean a specific character, film, or television show, the exact franchise or another identifying detail is needed to pin it down.
