A PGRI uniform is batik clothing associated with Persatuan Guru Republik Indonesia (PGRI), Indonesia’s teachers’ organization. PGRI’s own article discusses wearing the batik for National Teachers’ Day and PGRI anniversary events, but the sources available do not establish a current nationwide dress requirement or one uniform design for all teachers.
What does “PGRI uniform” mean?
In the sources available, “PGRI uniform” refers to batik apparel associated with the organization. The PGRI article calls it “batik PGRI” and discusses it as clothing connected with teachers’ events. Marketplace sellers also use terms such as “Uniform PGRI,” “Batik PGRI” and “kemeja PGRI” (PGRI shirt).
The PGRI article, “HGN Dan Batik PGRI”, is an opinion piece by Dudung Nurullah Koswara, identified as Chair of PGRI Kota Sukabumi. It argues that PGRI batik is historically appropriate for National Teachers’ Day (Hari Guru Nasional, or HGN) and PGRI anniversary observances, and refers to an event in 2018. That is the author’s view, not a nationwide uniform rule.

When might it be worn?
The PGRI article links the batik with HGN and PGRI anniversary events. Whether it is expected at a particular school or event depends on the applicable instructions: the available sources do not establish that every teacher must wear it on a specified day.
For a current requirement, check with the school, employer or relevant local authority. A local document or an opinion article should not be treated as a universal national dress code.

How to look for a PGRI batik shirt
Try search phrases such as “batik PGRI shirt,” “kemeja PGRI” or “Uniform PGRI.” Marketplace results show Indonesian sellers advertising garments with this wording, but a listing alone does not establish that the seller is endorsed by PGRI or that the design is official.
