For the orange armour on Fuegan, ’Eavy Metal uses Chotec Orange 4, then Megaboss Yellow 1 and 2 as highlights. A Blood Angels Intercessor gets Bloodtoof Red 3 as its base, with Bloodtoof Red 4 and 5 for highlights. A Celestial Warbringers Liberator uses a different approach: Magnus the Red 2 as its base, tones 3–5 as highlights, and tone 1 as a shade. These are three specific miniature recipes, not a claim that every model uses a single numbered colour sequence.
What red and orange paints does ’Eavy Metal use with Warhammer Tone Pro?
The official 5 October 2026 Warhammer Community feature gives recipes for Fuegan, a Blood Angels Intercessor, and a Celestial Warbringers Liberator. The red and orange paints differ by model and by the part being painted:

The source also says Fuegan’s black is highlighted with Craventhorne Cloak 3 and 4. This is part of the miniature’s recipe, but not one of its red or orange paint steps.

- Apply Chotec Orange 4 to the armour as the main colour.
- Use Megaboss Yellow 1 and 2 for the highlights.
The recipe specifies the paints and their roles, but not a detailed application order between the two yellow tones, the size of each highlight, or a separate shade. Treat the sequence as the published colour guidance rather than adding an unstated step.

Which Tone Pro paints make the Blood Angels red?
For the Intercessor, the stated recipe is Bloodtoof Red 3 as the base, followed by Bloodtoof Red 4 and 5 as highlights. It is a three-tone example within one colour family; no separate shade is specified in the feature.
How does the Liberator’s Magnus the Red sequence work?
The Celestial Warbringers Liberator uses Magnus the Red 2 as its base, Magnus the Red 3, 4, and 5 as highlights, and Magnus the Red 1 as a shade. This example uses all five numbered tones of that colour, with the darkest tone assigned to shading rather than as the base.

For the model’s metal, the feature also names Iron Hands Steel and Seraphon Blue mixed with Shading Medium. Those are additional details in the complete recipe, not part of the red sequence.

What do Tone Pro’s numbered tones mean?
Games Workshop describes Tone Pro as 30 colours, each available in five tones, for a total of 150 paints. Its 4 October 2026 range preview identifies tone 1 as the darkest and tone 5 as the lightest, presenting the numbered progression as a way to select shades through highlights. The three miniature recipes show how that framework can be adapted: Fuegan’s orange highlights move into Megaboss Yellow, while the Liberator’s red uses the same Magnus the Red family for base, shade, and highlights.

Are mediums or special brushes required for these recipes?
The red and orange sequences above do not specify a medium or a dedicated dry brush. In its range preview, Games Workshop describes Shading Medium as reducing pigment density without changing flow and finish properties, and Blending Medium as extending drying time. It also says Tone Pro can be used for glazing, shading, highlighting, basecoating, and drybrushing. These are manufacturer descriptions of broader uses, not independent performance findings or required steps in the featured recipes.
The 18 September 2026 preview also introduced four Tone Pro dry-brush sizes, XS through L, and said the paints would be available to try in Warhammer Stores and independent hobby stores worldwide from 26 September 2026. That stated date has passed; it does not establish current stock at a particular shop, so check with a local retailer.

What these examples establish—and what they don’t
The recipes are useful when choosing paints for these exact miniatures and details: Chotec Orange 4 with Megaboss Yellow 1 and 2 for Fuegan’s orange armour; Bloodtoof Red 3–5 for the Intercessor; and Magnus the Red 1–5 for the Liberator. They do not provide a controlled comparison with other paint brands or independent measurements of colour accuracy, coverage, finish, price, or value. Games Workshop’s separate claims about vivid colour, first-application coverage, and self-levelling are manufacturer claims, not results demonstrated by these recipes.
