AkzoNobel Powder Coatings’ Interpon D Futura 2026–2029 Collection won The Architect’s Newspaper’s 2026 Best of Products Award in the Finishes + Surfaces – Paint & Coating category, according to an October 6, 2026 report by IPCM. The award recognizes the architectural powder-coating collection; it is not, by itself, proof that the product outperforms competing coatings.
What Interpon D Futura 2026–2029 is
Interpon D Futura 2026–2029 is a collection of superdurable Interpon D2525 architectural powder coatings intended for commercial, residential, institutional, and public projects. The collection is organized around two palettes with distinct design moods.

These descriptions convey the palettes’ intended color character; the report does not establish differences in price, durability, or sustainability between them.
What the award recognizes
The Architect’s Newspaper selected the collection as a 2026 Best of Products winner in Finishes + Surfaces – Paint & Coating. IPCM says the awards are selected by a jury of practicing architects, designers, and critics. That is recognition from a design-focused awards program, not a technical certification or independent finding of superior coating performance.

Reported performance and environmental features
IPCM’s report attributes the following product details and claims to AkzoNobel Powder Coatings:
- Metallic finishes: The collection includes 50 superdurable bonded metallic powder coatings compliant with AAMA 2604.
- Warranty: Warranties are offered for up to 20 years. The report does not provide the warranty terms, and the maximum term should not be assumed to apply to every finish or installation.
- Low-E colors: The range includes 15 Low-E colors in Europe and North America. The report says they can support lower-temperature curing or faster coating-line speeds but does not quantify energy or emissions savings.
- Bio-attributed materials and EPDs: The report says bio-attributed raw materials are used and that relevant products have Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs). It describes EPDs as independently verified information about environmental impacts across product life cycles, but provides no quantified impact results.
IPCM’s announcement does not include technical data sheets, warranty documentation, EPDs, or independent test records. For a project specification, confirm applicable performance requirements, the exact finish, warranty eligibility, and environmental documentation with the manufacturer rather than treating the award announcement as a substitute for those materials.
