For a black glass dry-erase board, choose a marker made for glass or dark surfaces—especially one with white or neon ink. Quartet specifically recommends its Premium Glass Board Neon Dry-Erase Markers for black glass; Audio-Visual Direct also recommends EXPO Neon Bullet Tip Dry Erase Markers for dry-wipe use and EXPO Bright Sticks for wet-wipe use. Which markers show up on black glass?
Look for markers labeled for glass, black boards, or dark surfaces. White and neon inks offer the contrast these boards need; standard whiteboard markers may not show clearly on black glass, according to Audio-Visual Direct’s guidance.

Dry-erase or wet-erase: which should you choose?
Choose by how you want the writing to come off. Dry-erase markers are intended to wipe away dry, so they suit notes you change often. Wet-erase and chalk markers generally need a damp cloth, which can be preferable when you want writing to resist casual wiping. That is a use-case distinction, not a quantified smudge-resistance guarantee.

What does durability mean for black glass markers?
There is no measured head-to-head evidence here for marker lifespan, visibility, or clean removal after a fixed period. Treat “durable” as a practical requirement: the ink should suit the board, stay legible for the intended use, and clean off according to the board’s care instructions.

How to avoid cleanup problems
- Check the board manufacturer’s care instructions and use a marker type compatible with the surface.
