Canva es una plataforma digital para crear y editar diseños como presentaciones, publicaciones para redes sociales, currículums e invitaciones. Puedes partir de una plantilla y adaptarla o abrir un lienzo en blanco; después editas el contenido y descargas o compartes el resultado. Si quieres imprimirlo, conviene revisar el modo de color antes de exportarlo.
Qué es Canva y para qué sirve
Canva reúne herramientas de diseño y edición en un editor digital. Permite crear distintos formatos sin tener que empezar siempre con una composición vacía: puedes personalizar una plantilla o elegir un tipo de diseño y construirlo desde cero. Entre los usos que Canva describe están presentaciones, publicaciones para redes, currículums e invitaciones. Canva
El flujo básico consiste en elegir el formato, abrir una plantilla o un lienzo en blanco, modificar los elementos del diseño y decidir cómo compartirlo o descargarlo. La interfaz y las funciones pueden cambiar; los nombres de controles que veas pueden variar según el dispositivo o la versión.

Cómo funciona Canva: elige cómo empezar
Las dos rutas principales son usar una plantilla como punto de partida o crear un diseño en blanco. La plantilla aporta una composición que puedes personalizar; el lienzo en blanco deja que elijas el formato y organices el contenido desde el inicio.
Empezar con una plantilla
- Desde la página de inicio, busca el tipo de diseño que necesitas o explora las plantillas desde el panel correspondiente del editor.
- Abre una opción para previsualizarla y comprueba que el formato y la composición te sirven.
- Selecciona la opción para personalizarla y abrirla en el editor.
En el editor puedes adaptar el diseño a tu propósito. La generación de plantillas con Canva IA no está disponible necesariamente para todas las personas, según el Centro de ayuda de Canva.

Empezar desde cero
- En la página de inicio, abre la opción para crear un diseño y busca el tipo o tamaño que necesitas.
- Selecciona el formato para abrir un lienzo en blanco. Si no encuentras el tamaño, busca la opción de dimensiones personalizadas.
- Introduce las medidas y continúa en el editor.
La guía de Canva consultada indica, para las dimensiones personalizadas descritas, un mínimo de 40 px y un máximo de 8000 px de ancho por 3125 px de alto. Cómo personalizar y revisar el diseño
Una vez en el editor, modifica los elementos que necesites para que el contenido y la apariencia correspondan al uso previsto. Si estás trabajando con una fotografía, Canva enumera herramientas como ajustes, filtros y recorte, además de otras funciones de edición. Antes de dar el diseño por terminado, comprueba que el texto se lea con claridad, que las imágenes estén bien encuadradas y que la composición funcione en el formato elegido. Si partes de una plantilla, revisa también que el contenido de ejemplo haya sido reemplazado por el tuyo.

Cuando el diseño esté listo, puedes descargarlo o compartirlo para usarlo digitalmente. Si el destino es la impresión, Canva recomienda utilizar CMYK porque los colores pueden verse distintos en pantalla y en papel. Canva mantiene guías de uso para crear diseños con plantillas, diseñar desde cero, formatos y casos de uso y el editor de fotos. Las funciones y los controles pueden actualizarse; consulta la ayuda vigente si un paso no coincide con lo que aparece en tu cuenta.
